Yes. Everyone agreeing. Must be a conspiracy! Yes! A dastardly devious deranged demonic devilish - insert something else beginning with d here - plot! No, not plot... Plot doesn't begin with 'd'. Let me consult my thesaurus. No appropriate word beginning with 'd'? This is more evidence. My thesaurus has been tampered with! So let's opt for a neologism. Droplot. It's a drow plot, which sounds a bit like 'droplet'. Get it? Don't trust those drow. They'll be 'friends' right up until the point we've been used to do what they could have done all by themselves, and then they'll stab us in the back when we're weak! False fair-weather friends. Yes, that works. Now I could walk you through all the history about how we've been betrayed by the drow. But I need the toilet now. Bye bye. Twilight P.S. No, not false fair-weather. That's a double negative. Bad Karriel. Bad boy! Fair-weather friends. Tue, 16 Apr 2019 13:36:20 +0100 Subject: Menagerie Sector Site Visit - by: bambam Lucy It does look like it’s gone quiet over here, to be fair I sent Caradac a message over four moons ago and I’m still waiting on a reply now ! Maybe I sent it to the wrong personality :) Looks like drinks back over the tavern it is then. Maybe we should pick Twighlight up on the way that fellow always has some interesting stories or information to divulge. Sat, 13 Apr 2019 19:13:58 +0100 Subject: What is going on around us an open conversation! - by: andyreagan Driedyn It is nice to meet you also. The list I gave was my personal list and I will detail why I feel they are there as I get time. I am sure others will have a very different view as you do and I respect that. It is useful for us to debate this because it allows us to share information and maybe find some common threads to explore. As I said I am have been out of the loop for many years and have essentially little information about the Fortress of Pentar other than what I have gleaned from speaking to people in recent weeks. I understand that Nations are made up from a myriad of people each with their perspective on what their nation stands for. As I said I am still learning but for some reason they are choosing to make war with us. I guess when you have different factions there will always be a power struggle within as to whose agenda will be prosecuted by the Nation as a whole. From my experience people who deal with Hepaths play a very dangerous game not only for themselves but for those around them. I am happy to say that maybe not all or even the majority of the Fortress are "chaotic" but some certainly use agents of Chaos to augment themselves or to do their bidding. I dont know how much information we as the Valley have about them or their history and political situation but it does give me cause for concern when a portion of their nation actively court using Hepaths. I have never met Kiara but I have met and fought the Dark One when he wielded that axe when it was tainted by Chaos. I have no idea of how he resisted that taint or even if he did. I do hope your faith in Kiara is well placed. Given the current taint of Hatred on the axe and Kiara's desire to follow Law it is an easy step to see how that desire could be fueled by Hatred. I am not saying it is but Hatred can be insidious and subtle when it needs. I think it also interesting that this talisman of Law is once again being actively put in a place where it can be exposed to Chaos. I just wonder about the bigger conflict between Law and Chaos and what it means for a weapon of Law to be tainted / corrupted by Chaos. I guess my fear is that I don't know and we have allowed it to be put into that jeopardy once again. Briefly why the Concillium is a threat in my view. Ever since we arrived on Orin Rakatha we have been in conflict with them over our ability to teach magic. I believe they still want to have a strangle hold over who can cast magic and want to control people through that medium. The current Chancellor has a personal grudge against the Valley and he currently has significant resources available to him to apply pressure should he wish to. The Dymwan Well I have lost count of the times we have been in conflict with them since our arrival here. I will agree currently things are cordial but this is a personal view I dont trust them given their track record of deceit and at times desire to destroy swaths of people on Orin Rakatha. Please dont think that is about a good / evil. Those who know me will confirm I have no issue with evil casters I dont particularly like necromancers but can tolerate them if need be. I do know Tornado so I have to trust that his actions with the Cadre are in our best interests but I am genuinely wary about it. I hope that make some sense of my concerns and look forward to continuing this debate. Melkeron Fri, 12 Apr 2019 09:03:31 +0100 Subject: Althea / Dunstan - by: andyreagan Hello Cirith I am still trying to catch up with how things have changed since the Cataclysm and my return to the Valley after spending from what I understand many years as the Oracle. Sadly I remember little of what happened. What I am after is some information about Nodes as I understand it we need to go to magic ones on a regular basis to renew our ability to cast magic. I could be wrong in that. I have in my years come across power nodes to various aspects of the spheres so do we need to do that also? If we do where is the one aligned to the good sphere? Flash is a weaker spell than blindness though I assumed the dispel on the cryostasis was perfectly fine :) Sat, 06 Apr 2019 04:26:23 +0100 Subject: A new report - by: sarahb Ligner Larrsson has prepared a report of the "Where the Wind Blows" mission (with the decisions around the Temple of 4 Winds) that is available here: Tue, 02 Apr 2019 07:22:24 +0100 Subject: The Making of Magic. - by: adrianbaker A very big thank you for all the Monster support on the last event it was needed and appreciated. Loved Matt's Mist Shaman and Ian's being a Thinking Hordeling, oh and Neil on loudspeaker as the LoX Announcer!!! I bet the chainsaw tree surgeons that we saw later must have had some weird feelings about the announcements :-) Big thank you to Ant and Jennie for the wonderful food. Thank you to all the Crew, the Refs and my fellow party members - The Witch-Hunters, also a frozen Vilk hunchback doing Bane 8!!! Mon, 01 Apr 2019 00:27:02 +0100 Subject: Aether Town - by: sarahb Further to the earlier declaration, I would like to update on the following: The Darkbringer, Guildleader of the Black School of Magic, has been confirmed as the Director of Magical Research within Aether Town. Shard Farsight, Guildleader of the Grey Wardens and Chief Advisor to Lord Quicksilver, has accepted an offer to reside temporarily with the Labyrinth of Xenos over the next six moons. Kevralyn Soulfire Sun, 31 Mar 2019 17:52:21 +0100 Subject: The making of magic - by: Fay B Hi guys. So the next event is on Thursday and we are in dire dire need of crew. Like seriously in need of crew. If ANYONE can make the event at Oakraven for it, or even part of it we would be eternally grateful. At the moment we are so worried we don't have enough crew to pull off what we want to. So please, PLEASE can anyone that isn't signed up to crew come and crew please. Let me and Paul Matthews know please. Thanks Fay Sat, 23 Mar 2019 20:51:38 +0000 Subject: On the Subject of War - by: sarahb There are recent reports of Spider forces attacking the Fortress of Pentar. Jeremiah's Journal notes that the Weaver forces are hampering the Pentar forces who were attacking the Valley's northern borders. The House of the Weaver is at War with the Fortress of Pentar. I believe the opportunity for more co-ordinated activity between the House of the Weaver and the Valley does presently exist, should we desire to be more successful in our War against the Fortress. If the Valley wishes to exploit this potential opportunity, the appropriate channels and mechanisms will be available to do so.
