I guess I'll kick this one off with a round of theanks to the Refs, Monsters and Players (and of course the caterers!) for making this event such great fun! Excellent start to the "adventure weekend" format.

Favourite moments:

  • The whole Nethaniel Fetchraiser chain of events: Sat delivering a long and convoluted brief to Tersius, taken outside and killed by "Abdul", and then coming back as a fetch later on, and the general amusement over "So, you bent over in the darkness with Abdul eh? What were you expecting to happen"

  • The "farmer's argument" where the high levels came up with a fab solution to the problem which we hadn't thought of. Nice work!

  • Luring Kal off to the side as the dog thing on Saturday night (probably hoping he could swear an oath to me ) and then dismembering his leg

Many other memorable moments, but I'll leave them for other people to record.

Hahaha! That was great! I didn't notice that cliff in the dark and suddenly was tumbling! What fun!

It's not a proper dungeon if I don't have a horrible accident of some sort!

A big thanks to all who came and made it a great game.

We had some great new folk who really played well - great to have you along & hope to see you again soon.

Faves:
Path of Darkness - Major Disease anyone? lots of fun and only pants neutral curing to heal. "What about if I need a heal";
"Don't get hit"

Tersius dying to a 'Lethal Disease' - taking on the cyst and transmuting the corruption of the valley grove. Brilliant.

Getting Melieth back - 'nuff said.

Cheers

(PS: wasn't this called the seed of darkness? )

It was a real pleasure, and great fun to adventure again after over a year away from HQ. Great also to see so many old friends and meet many new people. Thank you to players, refs, monsters and caterers for an excellent weekend.

Special thanks to Sky for saving my life multiple times - top healer, always there in the big fights ready with a cure.

I'm enjoying the whole 'return to Murandir' adventure and politicking.

Fave moments include me, Gutrot, Kal and Ahab getting a good kicking from the two Hepaths, Walking the light path to rescue melieth, and Tersius's happenings at the grove. And on the principle there's nothing funnier than seeing an old friend fall off a wall - Seb, Darrell and Michael's acrobatics. Especially the final, additional line of vocals from Quickie - 'Yikes Aaargh Gnngh!

Lethal disease, fatal disease, whatever. You get the gist.

I blame Bruce.

Many thanks also -- to everyone! -- from me. It was great to catch up with so many people, and very strange how quickly I felt 'at home'. (I now wish I hadn't left it so long!)

It really was an extra bonus to be fed. And it's nice to have everyone sit together to eat, especially at lunch and dinner, rather than having people do their own thing at different points.

My personal highlight was holding off the avatar -- excellent costume and make-up in that encounter, by the way -- with Sir Kal. (Needless to say I also enjoyed corrupting the youth of the White Retreat by encouraging them to jump off cliffs. But that's already been mentioned!)

I also especially enjoyed the fact that my character behaved rather differently than I expected... and found himself regretting something he did at the beginning by about halfway through... [No spoilers!]

Excellent event and I enjoyed myself immensely particularly as I was assigned an entire party of keen low levels to look after me thanks all.

Personal Highlights:
* Meeting an old friend, discussing some old business and a very surprising change of management!
* Urging Constantine to duel the Knight-Paladin of The Dark and Powerful Host. . . how bad could it be!
* Storming into some ridiculous situations with a bunch of trainees and watching them hold everything together better than some much higher ranking parties I've been part of.
* Dinner! the food was gorgeous.
* The entire Nathanial Fetchraiser "boating accident" and subsequent maritime investigation panel. Especially the first answer in the questioning "did you kill him" "Yes". .. hmm we weren't expecting that!!
* The cheeky weapon dropping ghoul! (and subsequent disappontment).
* The HUGE piles of cash being thrown aronud at the auction!

I was really impressed with how the "live site" concept worked and giving players the freedom to decide on the party make-up. Admittedly we went for a fairly traditional low/high split with a few notable exceptions but even in those fights set to test the high levels it never felt like anyone was unable to get stuck in (as the fighting retreat on Sunday morning proved).

Really looking forward to the next Adventure weekend!

My thanks to everyone for making a very enjoyable event

my top highlight was definitely the fetchraiser incident and the behind the scenes hilarity that ensued

if you were given the chance to kill one of two necromancers which one would you kill?

a) the one in a fancy costume, named and met before who came in a delivered an awfully large amount of plot and was seen to be helping the party in the whole Melieth & Agoth affair

or

b) the one in a random black robe who basically said "I'm the honest one, that other blokes a traitor kill him"

also very impressed with the low level party holding it together and the two fighting retreat encounters

too many hills though....
