well I am now totally dry. Huzzah!

Thank you sooo much to the monsters for their sacrifices, good nature, role-playing and gneral amazing-ness.

Thank you to the refs for the months of prep and planning, as always the SGB team have put together an awesome product.

Thank you to the food peoples, and the site team who came in at silly o'clock to clean before we have woken up.

And a massive thank you to my fellow players, even our grumbles were in character (about weather, not stats Bruce)
We made a fantastic team, Team Thickie and Team Ego really gelled well together, and the fact that while people did lose res chances, the front line protected the squishies so well that I, who was the target of so much Attract Good, survived is testimony to your hard work.

I couldn't tell you fav moments. It was all amazing, but
seeing the Dymwan Herald finally die in the swamp was a big one.

The Elite Guard was a cracker too.

Cardinaris was scary, although having Good Spirit finally exaplined meant that I will now know for the future when I actually need to lie full length in a swamp for half an hour , OR NOT! Still now I know.

Huzzah for Smudge's sacrifice. He's a proper Hero. were it not for him, we would not have succeeded.
Cheers all.

A big thanks for Bruce, Sean and Gav for the EPIC preparation and dedication required to bring such an amazing event.
Thanks to the monsters for waiting in the rain for us, and for pulling no punches.
Thanks to Ezekiel and Bill for keeping me alive (most of the time).
Thanks to Rich for getting us together, and being mates with the Chorian

Fav moments:

Breaking the flank of the Halmadons so that Kudos could get through and headbutt / unshackle Anthony then stabbing Gav in the back repeatedly

the 1st halmad fight, the monsters werent warmed up, and i got blood lust for cut throats, they kept popping their good spirits so i could have another go!

The Elites fight when i finally found the soft underbelly i was so releaved they were only doing Power 5! Those elites hurt.

The final fight on the rain socked, wind ripped slope, exhausted after 4 days and 2 huge encounters that day, but willing to dig deep finally get Cardonaris. Proud to say i was there till the last blow! It fealt like the epic struggle it should have been to banish his spirit.

Im really looking forward to hearing the Identify audio files.

A massive thanks to everyone involved in making this happen.

Now rumour always had it that 'you just can't get the staff nowadays'. Apparently, Lan can!

This was for me a very enjoyable and fitting way to come full circle to the storyline that first got me so involved with HQ as player, monster and ref.

Additional thanks to SGB for utilising one of my old plot arcs during the event.

Fave fights were against Mike P at the good node and the Dymwan Elite fight (thanks to Mick and Connor for an excellent bit of sparring). Kicking Sir Godwins butt at the end was also unbelievably satisfying (the twat)!

Fave moment was weilding Morigar's Inheritance with Bill and finally putting an end to Cardinarris on OR. Grossing out Dibbler until he fled and the whole Carnival of Chaos evening were also excellent.

The map was also inspired and really gave the feeling of a 'live' site.

I wasn't even aware of a team ego...to me we were just Team Valley (with a bit of team thickie thrown in) and all equally heroes.

Thank you all once again.

R.

P.S. Morning Sweetie!

Had a wonderful time.

Monsters were brilliant. Could not believe all the effort that not only went into the plot, but made it complicated, but fully comprehensible. I thought that the way it was set up, everyone contributed. Truly awesome, SGB !!

Thanks to the other players, it was a great party.

Also many thanks to the support staff, who fed and watered us.

Great stuff!

The event was dripping with evidence of lots of preparation. I loved the map concept, especially when Cardinaris appeared on it, and the sudden post-apocalyptic feel as the living figures on the map were decimated. And that we were all trapped.

All the big fights on the last day were crackers, very edgy.

Kicking Halmadonians. Loved getting the Banner of the Knights of our Dark Lady out, and imagining all those good spirits go up in smoke.

I also liked the fight with half the party dark engulfed and lit up with glow sticks. Liked the concept of 2 parallel fights on 2 planes, in the same physical space.

'Mass Death'!

I enjoyed our little Baron huddles (often with an added Seneshal), with our determination to present a united front. I did have to check in the mirror every now and then for signs of developing 'drowness'.

I also briefly thought the Corsair crew were going to mutiny during our fireside chat discussing the merits of crossing to the other side of the site in search of Minotaur loot vs looking after 'the big picture'. Sorry to any monsters waiting for us.

Only one complaint, as voiced on the game. I fully expected to see Gav in a nappy again during this game, and feel cheated that I didn't. In lieu of this, I expected the much diminished Cardinaris at the end to appear in a nappy. Never mind.

I would like to add a massive load of thanks to all the people who made this event possible.

Especially Bruce, Shaun, Gav, and the cheerful monster team who didn't have the luxury of a warm building to dry off in, I salute you!

Thanks to Alex & Jenny for the food. That flapjack was delicious.

Thanks to the people behind the scenes who contributed to the plot and physical logistics/organisation, such as Steve B who turned up over the course of the event in many guises!

The effort the ref team had put into the event was palpable. The little handpainted figures (with beards chiselled off & staffs embellished) were wonderful, the recorded identifies/communes were an interesting idea (sadly I didn't end up trying one out but nice innovation anyway!), the interlinking runes and trapboxes and scrolls had something to keep the decipherers on the party happy - so much attention to detail!

I think they get to claim the title of Most Organised Ref Team Ever!

I found the plot highly enjoyable, with decisions & consequences, diplomatic & dodgy dealings, working with traitors and unlikely allies.

Nice work to Mick on keeping the butler suitably sinister

Favourite bits - I'll think of more later, but killing Cardinaris was a highlight I enjoyed the Kalid fight afterwards too and Araikas showing up to tell the Halmadonians what he thought of their holy word etc!

Personal moments:
* Banner of Remove Good Spirits, every evil person's dream when fighting Order of Purity! Why did we hand it back again...?!
* Arm wrestling competition - (especially when I realised it came down to natural not in-game strength...)
* Realising the way to defeat Cardinaris was to drop a giant orange ball out of the sky on him
* Fortune teller
* Harlequin on a number of occasions - for example telling the Halmadonians to crawl off in shame, and then the post-carnival conversation - tut tut!
* Lancorrin's "that's enough fun for the year" comment after sampling Smudge's sparkler
* Cardinaris offering to lend me his staff when I yelled that I was looking for a big power weapon to beat him with!
* Getting to do a 'rousing speech' before our key battle, even if Cardinaris wasn't impressed with it.

Hello again Owajawar! I'll tell Verrick he's a faggot.
And goodbye Aruna, it was nice knowing you! The scythe is a good look.

Thanks also to the people who brought me medicine - it made a massive difference!

I would also like to add my thanks to the many people who helped to make the event a huge success.

First and foremost to my co-conspirators, Shaun and Gav. I have worked in many teams, but I have to say that for me, this is the best team I have worked with. The many meetings we had to work through the plot, the huge efforts by Gav and Shaun to create the many props and their hard work on the event itself.

Also thanks to Steve Barnes for joining the ref team and helping out both before and during the event and the excellent delivery of the immense amount of information he was given to deliver to the party as Sir Clavados, Mian and the Uncles.

Thanks also to Pete Sutton for helping to develop the plot and making it as interesting as it was.

The monsters were absolutely amazing; putting up with less than excellent facilities and at times bad weather and late nights, without a word of complaint. They were so much more than just monsters and helped out in many ways. Their enthusiasm and good spirits really made the event what it was and I cannot thank them enough.

Thanks to Alex and Jenny for the food and general looking after the party.

Finally, thank you to the players, without whom it would have all been pointless. Rich Sherwood for helping to organise the players and acting as player liaison and the rest of the players for remaining happy and positive throughout the event and responding well to whatever was thrown at them, be it harsh weather or stats.

For me it was immense fun and now I need a nice rest until the next one.

I would like to add my thanks to everyone involved-
Refs and Monsters
Players
Alex (&Sue)and Jen in the kitchen.

Despite some challenging conditions the atmosphere in the monster base and with the players seemed excellent at all times, in fact the weather seemed to add to the growing sense of doom. The torrential downpour as the party finally met Cardinaris was very cool.

I loved the dual narrative as it allowed the monsters to play their characters adding to immersion and giving depth to the briefs as well as allowing us to be nearby at such a significant game event.

I enjoyed playing the Knight of virtue who was overcome with guilt. Zalex was a lot of fun , the huddle of *shades* doing the big drain in the ancient fight.
I'm sure there are many more, it all passed in a bit of a blur.

Finally special shout out to SGB, a finely crafted, organised and delivered dungeon- congrats Gents!!!!

I'd like to echo the thanks already given.

On a personal note, I'd like to call out the circus section as a particular highlight... I wasn't aware we were still running solo's, but regardless Harlequin thanks you

Also like to call out the audio identifies and communes as well as the supply of scrolls and runes that kept myself and dudge sharp with our cracking skills.

Work permitting, I'm looking forward to sticking to the Halmadonians again at the next Conjunction!

Cheers,
Fraserh
