Origins and Endings - Thanks and Froth! 8 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 22
The traditional "Thanks" to Pete, Fraser, Sarah and all the monsters for a fab event! The effort put forward by the monsters in dying repeatedly in dramatic heaps of snow was beyond the call of duty!

Cheers too to the party for being constantly entertaining.

The usual "Fave Bits" thread kick off:

* "To the Toilet" came the cry "The ladies has a bigger entrance" Devon responded. Halve then died of hysterics.

* So Halve who is the Heru Belag Aratar and which house is he in? Supplemental question. . why is the Valkeryie dying?

* Repeated "snowball to the face" incidents which always resulted in one of two outcomes. . a dead monster . . or a dead mage.

* The "Whippet Boyz" Duergar. It was difficult to keep a straight face.

* Mass Paranioa! who could have thought thinking everyone is out to get you could be so entertaining! A really atmospheric encounter great stuff.

There were so many good points about the event it's difficult to pick out seperate ones now perhaps more after another couple of nights decent kip!

Shaun.

I'd also like to thank both the party and monsters for being good sports! Everyone seemed in constant good humour and apparently enjoying themselves

Some of my fave moments:

  • Consistently good quality, loud vocals - particularly the magic casters. Great stuff guys!

  • Halve weaknessing the duegar to the floor down from at least Double Strength->Helpless, repeatedly kicking the duegar while gloating "who's the lesser race now then?" Then, having failed to scratch him with Double, casting a darkblade to Magic One him slowly to death...

  • Devin's quips, I particularly liked the one about Agoth managing to track Yana's Hut after it jettisoned the garbage

  • Any duergar who opened his/her mouth. I hope I'm not going to meet anyone from House Agraathan in the near future, or conversation may prove a challenge, for other reasons than the usual.

  • Admittedly the most OOC I've ever been, but listening to Halve's extensive knowledge of drow politics was priceless. "So which House is the Heru Beleg Aratar the head of?" - "The first House". "What position are House Agraathan?" - "Above House Drannath" - "But aren't House Drannath the bottom House?". And so on, and so on....!! I also like the idea of a House Morkevralyn.

  • The snow. Yes, it was cold but absolutely magical to wander around in!

Yukkiest moment: Neil's monster sliding the jelly brain into his mouth off the plate. Grim!!

Special acknowledgement to Pat Burden who consistently died dramatically in the snow after beserking his way into the middle of the party...

p.s. Thanks Pete and Fraser!!

I too would like to thank Pete, Fraser, Sarah and the monster crew for a fun event. Unfortunately I don't get to play as often as I would like now, so it's nice to have a good time when I am able to slip the reins.

I totally enjoyed my time with the party, particularly ensuring I pushed some of the current plot home . A good bunch to fight alongside, although what a bunch we were at times (I could almost hear the Referee sighs).

I also thought that the monster crew did a stirling job as usual.

Thanks all, I hope to get out and play again some time.

Thanks all for a great snow bound event.

I was reminded how much fun there is to be had playing an event (wish I wasn't reffing so much now!)

Looking forward to Halve's next outing

Fav moment - calling the 12th Warrior of House Agrathan a gulley dwarf!

--- oh and forgetting all the drow house names (I only just remembered the tower leader!)

I fully agree with the sentiments already expressed. Great event, well done to the refs and keen monsters. There's nothing like slogging through a foot of snow with three bad guys after you to keep you warm. There shold be some very picturesque photos hopefully.

Thanks also to the party who were always fun. Good to see a couple of faces return to battle plus a brand new one.

I should never have mentioned "The Maw" to Bruce. What have I let myself in for...

L8R,
Adam.

Firstly, thanks to all for a very good first event in the system, I had a wonderful time, and it was definitely one of the most enjoyable events I've been too in a long time.

As Shaun has already said, there were too many wonderful moments to list them all, but especially with the weather, I thought the event went excellently.

I shall be back, and will be booking onto the next couple of events as soon as my latest paycheck comes through, with others looking at joining me

So keep well, and thanks once more for a great time, and for being so welcoming to the newcomer!

I had a great time that weekend, Thanks to everyone.

Thanks Alex for the lift.

Thanks to Pete and Fraser for putting up with my memory being like a goldfish.

My fav bits :
In the hut with the programmer with the brains, watching Nathan being silly and watching Neil eating the brains.

The Morgothian encounter with the best ever goblin scout.

Neil screaming like a little girl on the floor after being weakened to the ground as he was power drained.

The mass paranoia at the hut and loads more.

Thanks guys

Glad you had a fun time, and what an absolutely amazing weekend to pick playing a white mage

Alex - you have a scary avatar!!

Karl - no-one can match you for remembering where random pieces of kit are, wish I could do things like that!
