Just a quick message to thank everyone involved with this event.

Had a great time, and I thought the role-playing both by players and monsters was truly inspired!

Enjoyed the emperor fight, and especially catching the ninja, using guile and magic.

Advice to all parties : Make sure you get a real healer. Do not accept substitutes !!

Thanks especially to the refs and monsters, for all the effort they put in.

Also, thanks to Slag. You told me it was just a few beers with some mates by the seaside!!

Congratulations to the new Sogun of Sukoku.

Regards to all

I have to start with a BIG THANK YOU to the crew,
Sky is going to be a great reff!
MBT always has sound advice, and was a great Timugen!
Ian & Stephane, our ever willing War Elementals, also provided great role-playing!
And the youth (god i feel old!) always had so much enthusiasm, especially if you mention the word Ninja!

Corina, Jenny & Neil did a tremendous job providing us with Oriental cooking, i know it wasn't easy.

Favourite Moments:

Shaman telling Timugens Story at the Mongol Camp

Obelisk Duel vs Ian Mongol

Toshiro and Ezekiel offering themselves to the Emperors Blade.

The Emperor and Advisors vs. Manchu Whisperers

The Dragon, and the red smoke.

Getting Randolphin with Magic 8 Sleep 256 (actually Sky got him, but it was most fun to watch!)

The Final Fight all of it - but watching your faces as the Spirit of the Manchu appeared and said "Aura of Cosmic Curse, Mass Harm!"

and of course Toshiro becoming Shogun.

if you havent seen already i am adding photos to the facebook group:

I would like to Echo Nick's to the hard working crew especially the Hardcore there for the whole event Ian, Stef, Sky and Bruce.
Also MBT, the Cardiff Boys and Martin and his crew- cheers all.
Thanks to Corrina and Jen for their hard work in the kitchen.

Recovering is a work in progress, but all in all im very happy with the way things went. I feel that we delivered the event well and that the party took to it well and enjoyed it.
The standard of roleplaying all round was excellent, allowing us to have sections without fighting which were most enjoyable.

Fave Moments

Toshiro becomes Shogun.

Telling stories round the fire and generally playing Sansar.

Ninja night, and the death of Mikawa.

The whole Emperor bit, nicely Martin.

Playing *chain murder the Player Ref* with Bruce, then getting murdered by him!

The Dragon.

and too many more to remember......

cheers all,
G

I always second guess myself about choices I make on my battleboard, but I loved the things I can do now.
This was an AMAZING event, and I echo what has been said about the high quality of characterful role-playing by all. As players we were able to feed off the excellent atmosphere created by the monsters and refs. And off each other!

I loved having triple strength, ripping out of the entrapment in front of the monks and watching great facial experession reactions was cool.

I loved smashing war elementals with oct (and running like a scaredy cat when Steff came at me).

I loved stunning the leg of the ninja and then mincing him on the ground.

I loved taking the harm and then no efect from the blade venom finishing move...

But most of all, I loved that final fight, Steff blighting me no less than 7 times, (mr Droopy sword), being cursed and then cursed again and getting to say my curse protects me, only being loc zeroed twice by bruce, and then high-light, being possessed and having valley law no longer apply. Curse those power drains. I still had four stuns and two disarms to use.

My death was a great one, so no guilt should be felt by all those who smashed me up, what a way to go!

And finally, if I smacked anyone too hard, I humbly apologise, (unless your name is MBT, that shield rush was great, really woke me up and made that fight memorable .)

Huge thanks to Nick, George and the rest of the crew for yet another (final? maybe...) awesome "oriental adventure".

I've been waiting for this one for years and it certainly didn't disappoint. What an excellent round up of a campaign and a perfect retirement for Toshiro, it's what I've had in mind for him ever since I started him over five years ago.

Lots of fantastic roleplaying from both sides, some great fights and some brilliant talking encounters all rolled into one.
I set a new HQ personal best as I think I took about 2000 damage in the last fight, 700 by the first battleboard. Thanks to Bruce for the prolonged beating, loved every second of it.

Thanks again everyone, back to recovering.

L8R,
Adam.
