Hair Dye 7 Years, 12 Months ago Karma: 8
I am getting increasing annoyed with the spray on white hair dye for my drow on events. It is fine the first day but gradually rubs off and you wake up with hair worse than Einstein.
Has anyone tried any alternative and do any f them work. I have thought about wash in wash out dye but don't have much faith in them especially a white one.
Any ideas or experience would be great.

Hi Alex

At least you have short hair

I did consider dyeing my hair white for a HeroQuest (fantasising about the idea of being able to put a hairbrush through it every morning...) but was advised by a girl who had gone particularly light with her own hair (for non-LARP purposes) that going whiteish would be incredibly bad for your hair. However, as you have short hair I guess it would regrow/regenerate pretty quickly if anything bad did happen.

I can't imagine that a wash-in wash-out dye would work for you, as to get white hair (or hair much lighter than your own) you basically need to bleach it.

My solution is just to top it up regularly... seems to (generally) do the job.

I also found that Hair Flare hairspray seems to stick better than some of the alternatives, as described by yours truly here
