Just thought it worth suggesting - currently you can only book by paying the full amount up front. Would it be worth adding a paypal option to just pay the deposit?

Also, would it be worth adding an option for newly registered users to book as first-timers?

Hiya,

Re your first question - agreed, that's work further down the line...

You can always pay a deposit via other means (e.g. bank transfer or cheque) while this functionality doesn't exist in the online booking scheme.

Re your second question - I thought we had this (if you've never played before). Seb?

The site code deals with new players creating an account and then booking on an event immediately from there, and applies the discount, however, what we don't deal with is new players creating an account, faffing around for a while, and then booking on an event...

Unsure how we'd deal with this...

I'm guessing we'd have to create an SQL field when new accounts are created called something like "first_event" which is set to 1 as default, and then when a player books on an event, the booking process sets the field to 0 to prevent repeat bookings...

WHat do you reckon?

Well, we created an account for my fiance just before I put up the first post, the going to immediately book the event, but it didn't offer any discount option.

I can sort it directly with Mike and Bruce easily enough tomorrow, just thought it was worth a mention.

Yes - definitely worth a mention - thanks for bringing it to our attention

It won't be fixed before tomorrow so please chat directly to Mike / Bruce in the mean time and we'll look at updating the implementation.

Best,
Sarah

Further to this, I've now taken out a membership package, which I negotiated with Bruce. The package is listed on the website when I go to do bookings, but when I try to book onto an event I don't appear to get any options other than paypal still, despite the membership deal.

Any ideas, is the functionality not there, is it not working, or am I just being stupid?

Hi Mike

Do you want to double-check with Bruce/appropriate admin person the dates between which your membership scheme lasts?

I'll PM you the details that are recorded in the system & further info.

Thanks!
