The King's Wedding 8 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 7
Despite the best efforts of the weather -- actually I really enjoyed the fraught combat in the woods as night was falling on Saturday, at least in so far as victory gave an amazing sense of achievement! -- this was a fantastic event.

Some of the costumes, in particular, were exceptionally good. The praetor's fit the bill perfectly, and was arguably the star of the show. (It was matched by first-rate roleplaying by Joel.)

It was also delightful, in character, to finally meet Darketh Nightspawn after twenty years! (Qs couldn't just let it lie, of course. Idiot.)

Many thanks to all involved, especially JB, Rick, Bruce, Mike, and Sarah for their sterling referee work...

Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable event.

the weather was against us on Saturday but it still was lots of fun!

Highlights - seeing old faces again and new faces!

- The look on Neil's face when I opened the cloak and the name calling after

- last minute sub for a missing monster and the plot twist that came.

odd moment - negotiating 'the kiss' without being able to work out how it was going to happen.. eek.

May pop down for a day in July but that may be it for me this year.

xxx Thank you Refs, monsters and players for a fun event

Many thanks to JB, Rick, Bruce, Mike, and Sarah plus their hard working crew for running what must have been a tricky event, no thanks to the rain, which turned out extremely well. I have to agree with Darrell, the long fight in the gloom and pouring rain was really atmospheric (in more ways than one) and fun. (I can't believe I just wrote that, are we nuts?)
The big fight at the end against the Senatus shield wall was excellent as well.

I really enjoyed being the token dodgy scumbag in many of the situations. Had some really excellent interactions with the King, the Praetor and the Dreadlord. Great stuff.

Also many thanks to the rest of the party who were in good spirits despite the downpour. Special thanks to Mark and Alex, my partners in the dual combat and jousting games. Good work lads!

Looking forward to and dreading the July HQ in equal measure.

L8R,
Adam.

Just to add my thoughts,

once again, thanx to everyone for making me so welcome. its not easy for experienced players to have a newbie in their midst, but you all looked after me very well.

thanx to the crew and monsters for making it a fun w/e, even in the rain.

excellent plot and plenty to keep us busy which was brill.

Poison camp fight and the warm up fight with a bloody troll doing nov!(until maggot did his thing)

Infact just about the whole weekend!

Amazing to find out finally how the other half live.
Thank you so much to an obviously hard-working and dedicated monster crew, you guys were brilliant.
Thank you to the refs for testing us and coming up with waaay to much for me to follow, and being patient with my rubbishness come battleboard time.

I agree with Adam and Darrell, the long wet fight in the woods was really atmospheric, and even though soaked to the skin and wet and miserable, it just seemed to add to the despicable filthy suicide bombing scum's nastiness.

It was one of the best fights I've ever been in.

The shield walls were great fun, hammertime!!!

My fav moments had to be :
the joust, which devolved into a 15 minute scrum for Slag and Slurry, with Tertius beating the tar out of me at the same time.
Getting to answer the poncy kings scribe when he asked what my name was.... "Slag", and the look on his face, horrified!!! absolutely priceless. Then getting to repeat it when he asked for a second time.
Tending Slurry troll-style no bandages required.
trying to chase Rob Buckley while he was playing a scout...totally pointless
and my most fav... taking off the armour each ight and growing at least two inches taller.

Thank you party, you were all great too.
Slag, aka Alex

A wet time was had by all - but wasn't Sunday worth the wait!
Thank you very much to all the refs and monsters who worked like demons behaind the sceanes in horrible conditions.

Highlights:

The fight in the woods on Saturday evening and trying to find a way to catch up to Rob who led us all over the place.

Shield wall final encounter

Listening to the highly entertaining conversation between Lord Bale the Praetor.

Going off scouting on Saturday moring with Kaylan leading the way. Really like the freedom to go off nosing about without constraint.

I had a great time this weekend, I almost cancelled on friday as my narcolepsy has been bad over the few days before, I'm glad i didn't It was a great weekend i and it looked like everyone else had loads of fun as well.
Many thanks to all the monster crew for a top performance even in the weather.

My fav bits...

The last fight - that was awesome!

The tournaments were good fun and a laugh! well done the winners. (Helen even thought i didn't hear you at the challenge i heard you practice earlier in the day and thought you well desrved to win)

The wedding itself and all the political intrigue involed. (and Sarah b's singing)

The Nathan shrine now/ Agoth portal and suicide ritual attempt that was brutal that was my own fault though but loads of fun.

And last but not least the wedding feast, it was very appetising and filling.

Again thanks a lot guys for doing such a great job and thanks to all the other players as well

hey all,

mailing to thank everyone for an absolute great time. it was so much fun this weekend im still on a high now from it.

many thanks to the monster crew for their brilliant monstering even while we were all sodden through absolute pleasure. a huge thanks to the refs who got us all having to deal with situations i wouldnt even of imagined. thanks to coreen for the beautiful food. lovely. thanks to my fellow players for the great fun we had.

my favourite bits:

Straight away the last fight, leitha really screwed up but also it was great acting for the empire reactions to Leitha's tauntings.

the tourlements were so much fun, i enjoyed it all the jousting really tired me out. and i was only running around.

the whole thing with the empire including been interrigated by amadeus and his gaurd loved watching their reactions. gave me something to write about.

the feast and interaction and conversations about and with the king and the empire. it was a lot of fun for me that made me have to use all my philosphy.

so thank you all for a great time.
