Thranduil Dungeon Thanks 7 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 26
I would like to thank a number of people for the August Thranduil dungeon just gone by, without whose help, it would not have been possible:

- Bruce our creative player-ref, who kept the party entertained and brought lots of gravel & gold spray paint and did some nice maps
- Chioma on the assistant reffing front, who amongst other things created the Captain's diary physrep and all the puzzles
- MBT for creating some of the characters and factions that the party met
- Les for his part as a ref, who most invaluably removed the air of chaos from behind-the-scenes proceedings

Our new monster Stephane who seemed to take monstering like a duck to water, and even remembered a full drow name & title (could there be higher praise? )

Plus Bill and Mark and Pat B and Rob and Jenny (especial thanks Jenny for Friday evening!) and Martin & John and Paul and Ken who got stuck in despite the god-awful weather.

Finally thanks to Corinna our cook and Alex the awesome prop-maker.

Contenders for best quote of the dungeon include:
"are you blind or merely dim-witted?" (from Jenny)
and plenty from Khandis on Saturday night.

I look forward to Maggot's report(s)....

I am another who cannot wait for Maggot's report on the proceedings.

Special thanks to Sarah for running the event despite a few other things going on in her life =], being understanding when I got things wrong, and for ordering the sun on the last day so putting down the monster base wasn't quite as stressful as getting it up.

Les for what Sarah says above ^^ and again being understanding when I got things wrong.

To the party for not getting too disheartened (as far as I could tell) when the weather was shit.

Chioma

PS Thanks to Sky for not getting Thralk killed on the first night =P

I'd like to add my thanks to everyone involved. Despite the weather I had a great time - the rain was pretty nasty at the time, but I think it's one of those situations that is much more fun in hindsight.

Great party as always, dedicated monsters (thanks to Rob particularly for changing sides so we had a bit more opposition), great food, interesting plot and much, much LOOT at last (chief, all is forgiven )

Hopefully see you all in September!

I agree with Phil. After the third day of rain it was getting very grim but there's nothing like a bit of sun and a huge pile of loot to brighten things up. Can't wait to see the pics of us posing with the shineys!
The evening staying in drinking was much needed and produced many quotable gems that I dilligently wrote down. I'm going to enjoy writing the report. Lesson 1: Never gyp an evil half orc out of some money.

Many thanks to the Refs and hardy crew, I know how hard monstering in wet weather is.

I look forward to seeing possible more of you than I was expecting in September thanks to the phat lewt with expirey date. Marketing at it's best.

L8R,
Adam.

My thanks to a great monster crew who must have been as soaked and freezing as we were.
Also to Sarah for reffing and having to get drowed up just to indulge my whims.

My comments never happened. Thats my excuse and im sticking too it. Although I think the name Thrak CloakSwaffler should stick with any luck.

You can't have it both ways boy! (Though apparently Lady Kevralyn can, and does).

Thanks guys, for running with a little player generated idea and turning it into a big adventure.

Fav bits:
Getting to handle some real treasure
Big Uruk fight on friday (high stakes and edgy)

And I'm sure it was...

Khandis Cloakswaffler, 28th blah blah blah....and
Thralk Swafflecleanser, 32nd blah blah blah....

Correct. Thralk is clearly not well regarded enough to be allowed to actually do any swaffling himself...
