So we've all read it what a mess!

But fair game it got sorted out allot faster than I would of thought. I mean so much to organize, and in such a short time, well done to the powers that be for getting it done so fast.

Me well I've settled for a place in The Menagerie, well Vetzlar always did like the plants, creatures and berries I brought back from Illiathion

Just need to get these dam Murundian rabbits out of my room first then I can settle in.

A mess indeed Kudos!

What I want to know is now that the Blue School of Magic has both it's guild leader and assistant guild leader resident on Murandir, who's running the show over here?

Quite a bit for an Administrator to take over don't you think?

Are those on Murandir still effectively running their old posts on Orin Rakatha? Seems a bit of a stretch to do so.

Eh?

i have pledged my status to the groves and have made my own place near the towers in the groves. i plan to study often though.

i will be in the tavern sometimes though as well cant help but enjoy the local mead.

It is interesting how quickly we have our political system back as strong as it was before and the strength of our leadership is now as great as it was. A shame so many cycles have been restarted and we have lost so much knowledge. but we will recover. the water flows from a stream to a river and as such grows stronger.

Ichabod,

What a mess indeed.

Unfortunately I think that you will find that the Administrator is also on Murandir, which means that effectively there is no one running the show at the moment in the Blue School.

From what I can tell with all the chaos about, this is a similar story in many of the Guilds.

You should also be aware that Murandir is drifting away from Orin Rakatha and for the moment there appears to be no contact with them, so we are on our own.

However I am sure that we will all pull together until something gets sorted out. I have made myself available to assist as required, as have the few remaining other Sorcerers of the Blue School and other Guilds in Fortunes Keep.

Indeed I feel sorry for all you linked heavily to a guild so many people away, and as Tornado says Murandir is currently in flux with both the Vortex being closed and this Mist Lord business do we actually know what's going on?

Im guessing the Lords will sort out the Guild situation fast so we can get back to training as soon as is possible.

All I know is that it is currently impossible for me to travel to Illiathion where I have been stationed for the past 8 years on and off.
As for the world window is it not working or gone again does anyone know?

I've chucked my lot in with Lazarus to help where I can so no doubt you'll be seeing more of me about.

Sorceror Tornado,

Thanks for your words or reassurance but it's a bally pickle if Gilbert is on Murandir too!

Leitha, I'm afraid i don't share you optimistic appraisal that the systems back in place. From where I stand there's little organisation and less leadership in the Tower now than ever.

I suppose if there's no training on at the mo' then it's all hands to the pumps, eh!

Have faith in the earth mother she will grant us victory over the khalid.

they have done well to get this far in such a short space of time. i think we need to focus on with training and preparing the tower and make sure we win this war. do not fear ichabod. the cycle of this war has just begun we are still in the winter of it. we still must go through to the next winter to win this war all seasons end and new ones begin! we will be fine.

The guild system is effectively suspended at the moment but we, the Lords of Fortunes Keep have pledged that all training will continue to be provided via the Training Camps and have put in place a tutor system to make it so.

We have a working power structure in the Lords, although not all Sectors have chosen their Lord as yet, and I would argue that this serves the tower in a more efficient way than the old Primus and Congress. Additionally we now have the benefit of all fitting to one power structure rather than being spread across 3 towers with many layers of bureaucracy.

I'm sure that we will continue to adapt to our new situation and that we will come through this stronger than before - there is greater unity between the Lords than there ever was in the 3 seperate leaderships of the 3 towers and that can only be a good thing

So this is the tower army now or are we still the valley army?

So is it time to get back out there and stop the khalid???

its also going to be interesting to see how the people get along in one tower.

Lord Vetzlar,

Thank you for your clarification of where we stand.

Since the 'system' is in a state of flux and I have the ear of a Lord could I venture my opinion?

It has always seemed bizarre to me that the teaching of magic is split into separate guilds as it seems that the majority of Wizards, and especially Sorcerors, are members or at least two or more anyhow. Perhaps it would make sense to have a single guild with overarching responsibility for all things magic with a single figure head. I like your suggestion that individuals are assigned a tutor who is directly responsible for a students teaching up to high magic. I assume that Sorcerous training is a less formal affair conducted amongst peers.

The big advantage of this flatter system would be less bureaucracy to traverse when decisive action is required. The downside, I suppose, would be the concentration of power to a single individual although I don't think the guild should be run in an overly autocratic manner so selection of this leader would be crucial.

In my years toiling in the Empires bureaucracy on Murandir, before liberation, whenever action was required a whole hierarchy of command was often removed and a single, effective, leader emplaced with direct authority over every level who could then use or remove the structures he/she found useful. This (albeit military) flexibility is a key strength of the Imperial machine. The Senate of course kept close oversight of this individual!

On the adventuring front I image that 'operations' could well follow a similar model with one key figure having overall responsibility for mission control and drawing guild expertise as required.

What do you think?

Ichabod,
Mage
