TOPIC: Dymwan's gold
#11544
Dymwan's gold 5 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 5
Greetings fellows,

I have been attempting to research a number of interesting aspects arisen from our recent sojourn to Gilden Far and the likely implications for our forthcoming jolly to the Mirror Realm (or Dark Pass as we've previously known it) on the Plane of the Sleepless Dead.

It seems that our intelligence is out of date, but when the Dark Pass was last visited both Vampires and gold masked Dymwan were encountered.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this cast of Dymwan? Perhaps they are not Dymwan at all or perhaps undead Dymwan?

Does it matter?

They're dymwan, scum of orin rakatha and have no right beyond to be hunted and slain, If you find a vampire called marina and her necromancer vienna do give them my regards before you put them to the sword. but if you can take them alive, I wish to have a rather personal discussion with them, after that if the duegar which to play shlops or anything i'll donate the two scum to them.

Be careful though a dymwan is not as stupid as one would think they are a tricksy lot who are evil to the core.

So to clarify you have fook all of use to add as usual, but can't bear for a conversation not to involve you at least fifty percent of the time.

Maybe in future if some asks for help ona subject about which you have no knowledge what so ever you could listen and learn rather than spouting your usual bollocks?

Ichabod, sorry for butting in and potentially detailing your question guess I am short tempered for some reason. . . .

In the meantime I shall see what else I can uncover.

i think after spending enough years in their bloody cells i know enough about them to know what they deserve although you wouldnt understand what its like to watch your own kind been dragged to some fate worse than death and been kept in a small cell in what i would call hell damp dank confined conditions i suppose you know "fook" all as you put it.

If you want information on Dymwan and what they can do and capable of Ichabod feel free to contact me and i will help you if you wish with my knowledge of the filth. I know Dymwan will go to any length for their necromantic dealings and heard the echoes and screams of their "experiments"

To be honest, i dont mind not making comments in conversation if its away from what i have experienced, but to answer your question there are plenty of times i don't wish to listen to you and some of the conversations you have. But I tolerate it.

Ichabod,

My dear friend having read over the report suggested by Shard I refer you back to a recent mission we both ventured out on and your own fine report to quote.

"Before any fatalities occurred the two Aldonar completed their ritual and came forth to demand explanation of our conduct. Both were in black, one in armour and the other with a silver mask (or face)"

Considering the other reports mention of the Aldonar Tombs I felt it prudent to point this out, it may be of no relevance but considering the incessant meddling of the Aldonar in necromancy....

All the best in your travels.

Kudos,

Thank you very much for that reference, I will look that document out.

I also found a useful reference within the "Treatise against the Amarinthine Arts" by a member of the Sacred Swords which said:

The plane is divided into a number of realms each different in character and ruled by a different lord. Running through the middle of the plane is an area known as the dark pass inhabited by the gold masked Niggromancers one of whom is know as Arnal Narlac (see later).

Thank you,
Ichabod.

Isn't nigromancy the creation of undead through the use of magic? If so I think that was an Aldonar speciality.

Just my 2 gests worth.

I believe (if I remember Ciriths teaching properly) that Nigromancy refers to the art of raising undead through alchemical or other ritual/potion based methods. The Aldonar families all had their own specialities as I recall although for more information I'd refer you to Quicksilvers summary here:
www.heroquest-larp.co.uk/whats-it-all-ab...and-the-aldonar.html

I fear we may be going off topic from Ichabods original question but I do miss working with other scholars.

Re:Dymwan's gold 5 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 5
All information is useful!

As I understand it there are three main branches of undead study:

Necromancy, the usual summoning of spirits into the dead and the weakest form.
Nigromancy, the alchemical creation of undead. This is usually for the pruposes of life extensions, lichdom etc.
Nacromany, which is the embodiment of spirits within a living host.

As for how this relates to the Aldonar families, well from Quicksilvers document I quote

The Family of the Dead. This family raised undead using all and any means at their disposal.
The Family of the Screaming Soul. They were primarily Nacromancers. Nacromancy is the art of embodying undead into living people. Lord Caradanis was of this family, as was his son Dymwan.
The Family of the Tomb. This family studied the art of Nigromancy. Nigromancy is the use of alchemical means to raise undead (such undead are typically 'unranked'.
The Family of Old. This family raised undead using the evil sphere (the evil sphere and the necromantic sphere were once closely linked).

There were, of course, the four other Aldonar families commonly grouped as the Elementalists.

Actually as Dymwan was an Aldonar himself these gold faced Dymwan could well be Aldonar themselves. If so then they are likely to receive a visit from Erelan Black who is currently attempting to gather 'his people' at the Wizards Concillium.

Indeed the Dark Pass was a realm used by Cardinaris himself so there is another connection with the Aldonar.

I must try and find this out when I visit there!

Ichabod.
