Will ask my brother John to see if there is anything he can quickly teach me. Doubt ill get the time to learn anything that involves sitting down but ill see what I can do.

Well, whilst we're wallowing in the mundanity and boredom of preparation, albeit only as a precursor to the mind numbing terror to come; it behoves me to play my part in these proceedings.

I will, of course, be providing a sorcerous static field that will provide a useful modicum of magical protection for all. I am assuming this will suffice for most, but wish to know who amongst our number will need more personal long-term protection in lieu of armour.

Any takers?

Sorcerer Harlequin,

As a minor caster of the magical arts I can protect myself with a good old plate self.
If you can be so kind as to provide me with better, or equal for a longer duration that would be splendid.

Regards

My abilities seem to be vastly exaggerated by persons other than myself. I am a Hospitaller, and am trained to cure people of only certain injuries.
I have no personal protection at all, barring a shabby suit of non-metal armour. Any protections that could be cast on my would serve well in keeping me upright and fixing you all up for more active murdering.
As I have spent my time in the Hospital curing diseases I have become proficient at preventing myself becoming infected with these self-same diseases, and can cast this protection on others, even those which kill, as well as curing these diseases.
Regrowing limbs on the more inept woodcutters has led to my being able to do it easily in 4 hours, and for the more discerning client, in a spells duration. Withering I have not encountered yet in the course of my duties.
I can unshackle a Spirit for those whose have night terrors, but anything larger is not yet in my limited repertoire.
I used to be able to Dismiss certain undead, but that seems to have gone all wibbly, so best not to rely on it.
I can remove Fear, but not protect against it.
I can also write scrolls of Mass Heal, hint hint, but do not have a lot of money to buy the scroll paper (bigger Hint Hint)
Hope this helps.
Bill

Bill,

Mass heal has the potential to save a huge amount of power in the right situation. The Corsairs have some pooled funds and may be able to buy some scroll paper. I'll look into it.

I assume you can write as many Mass Heals as you have sheets of scroll paper? If so, does anyone else have scroll paper that can be used for this purpose?

Kudos and Bill,

I can furnish you with a Dark skin that will last as long as we are out of the Tower, provide protection equivalent to the best battle magic has to offer and can only be dispelled using the greatest of wizardry dispells. If this is of some use, I am happy to provide them to yourselves and any others who would benefit.

It may be the case that Kevralyn will offer to provide better, but failing that my offer stands.

Harlequin, I would recommend your magic is best preserved for more exciting spells in the field - of which I am aware you have a number - and which would also complement my typical pattern of usage.

I am happy to provide several darkskins that require an arcane dispel.

I am also prepared to recast some of these skins every three days so that the recipients benefit from enhanced magical and physical protection. Or alternatively, a mission-long darkskin.

I will offer my support to this crusade.
apart from my use of the evil sphere I can give my assistance to Bill or stand in the front rank.
I can also offer dex to a few members of the party if this would be needed.

I have also had the misfortune of coming up against an aspect of Cardinares in the past.

If my memory serves me correctly his staff will rip the life from anywhere it touches rendering limbs useless. a strike to the head or body left you needing tending.

We did trap the aspect in a ward which we fought him inside of. Maybe this is something that could be looked into as would stop him from escaping.
I believe Tornado was leading our party maybe he would be a good source of information.

Re:Crusade against Cardinaris 4 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 26
Glad to hear you will be joining us Vallan, and thank you for the information. I have sent a message to Sorcerer Tornado.

There are a number of capabilities within our party:
- we will all be protected from scrying, so we may the opportunity of relative surprise for Lord Cardinaris (while the marks some have may make it easier for Dymwan to recognise us, I do not believe it is like the Labyrinth of Xenos who can communicate that information back)
- should we need to cast a ritual in the vicinity of Lord Cardinaris, e.g. to set up a ward, I am able do this without being disturbed - assuming the ritual does not rely on the Neutral Sphere, etc.

One wonders if being in Lord Cardinaris's presence confers any benefits to the Evil Sphere-oriented members of our party - should we require unhallowed ground, etc.

Lastly, and I am not necessarily expecting a positive response to this, does anyone cast white magic?

As it happens, considering the nature of our foe, I have begun dabbling with white magic.

I've mastered the basics of commonly available white battle magic. I thought sunlight might turn out to be useful and mass flash certainly seems entertaining.
