Bill, I have scroll paper that you can write whatever invocation you feel is suitable on. I will have it delivered to you shortly so you can inscribe it before the mission.

I also have some knowledge of basic white list battle magic.
My magical strength is not strong unfortunately.

My training has been interesting for this mission pulled in a few favors and such like.
Currently I am receiving additional training from the Humacti Sect, Michelene Sect and of course the Hospital plus some other more diverse places.
Magic support wise I am capable of casting battle level magic in Red, White, Green and Grey.

Hope this helps.

It looks like we will have a large group for this mission, bordering on unwieldy. On a ship, to avoid chaos, its vital that everyone knows their role, and that of the man next to them. It may be best to divide our band up into smaller groups to work closely together. I think 4 groups (6,4,3,3) may be best:

Front Line
Lead by Irwin (Smudge if Irwin falls)
Kakarot, Kylar, Smudge, Irwin, Sutnac, Anthrax
Priests may need to be able to briefly drop back to cast

Front Line Support (Immediately behind)
Led by Kevralyn
Ezekial, Bill, Kevralyn, Kudos
Kevralyn can keep the big picture and provide the magic support, and even step into the front line
Bill support the middle of the front line, Ezekial and Kudos a side/flank each, Ezekial on the Hammer team side and Kudos the Skirmish side (they may need the magic as well as healing)

‘Hammer’ Flank
Led by Lan
Lan, Vallan, Harlequin
Well placed to try and destroy 1 individual quickly. The Evil Priest in this group can be rotated from the front line.

‘Skirmish’ Flank
Led by Jack
Jack, Scortch, Dudge
Well placed to flank collapsing foes to cut throats. A couple of these are probably Journeymen, not Masters so may need extra support (Kudos). To work as a team to avoid being caught out. May need to bolster with magic / healing items to avoid being slowed/welded/battered. This would be the same group as doing the bulk of the scouting, its essential they learn to work together.

The flanks could be switched as the lie of the land requires.

If there are any comments about this idea, speak up now, especially if your skills don't fit the role.

Additionally, Bill, it looks like we have 2 sheets of scroll paper so far (Lan, Jack). I suggest you arrange a runner to pick them up and write Mass Heals on them.

Baron Irwin,

I am more than happy to support where needed but would just like to point out that despite being a member of, and associated with the scouting Guilds I am not adept at scouting, or any sort of scurrying around in bushes, however, when the fight hits I will be able to provide the support as required.

I have no objection with being in the hammer group to go out when a suitable target has been identified, I will expect Vallan to invoke where appropriate.

Do any of the Skirmish group use potions that have a duration? If so I may have something useful for them.

Thanks for establishing these groups Irwin.

I recommend someone else leads the Front Line Support group, as with the more difficult fights I may be off casting or fighting on the front line where necessary.

Additionally - as I wield my sword left-handed - I fight on the left hand side of any group where possible, so should be on the flank.

I knew this would get you talking....

16 is a big group, its easier to keep track of everyone in smaller groups. A diagram might help...

What I had imagined was a front line group (6), with the support group behind (4).
If we are lined up for a pitch battle in a field, the hammer group takes one flank, the skirmish the other. This won't be possible on a narrow path though.

The support group has 3 potential healers in it. Bill looks after the middle, Ezekiel and Kudos look after the sides, including the flanks. Kudos, I don't mean you should act as a scout, I meant you should act as a healer to one side of the front line, and to keep an eye on the skirmish group on your flank. I think you are best placed to heal the skirmish flank because you can also remove welds, slows etc too.

I think the 2 flank groups need a leader in them because I imagine they may need to make a decision to move fast, independantly to either kill an individual or flank the enemy. The front line needs a leader for obvious reasons (charge!!!), the support group only needs a nominal lead because it job is always to follow the front line. It probably doesn't matter who this is.

Basically I want to take advantage of having a group of scouts that will work together, and a 'kill group' that will work together, and that these will not have basic frontline duties (except to hold the far flanks in an open field), and be free to work from the flanks, in a slightly autonomous fashion. This is Corsair tactics taken to the next level.

It is my habit to watch combat, and observe when people have taken damage. I watch for casters and the like, but since my Power Hammer finger was disabled, I can't do anything about them. If you want me to act as a scrum half for the front line to shout things while you are firmly stuck into personal combats, it would be within my ability, but it will draw attention to the unarmed healer... happy to do it though. I am naturally shouty.

That little Scout Scorch uses potions, I've seen him. Mainly double strength ones I think.
