Here we can start a separate discussion on strategy & related topics, away from the ongoing tactical discussion.

The more, and more I read about our foe the more times I read this word 'Aldonar'.
I believe whatever we feel towards the unlife; that is the Lich and Lord Black, we should seek an immediate diplomatic audience with the remnants of these peoples to gain their knowledge which I believe will be invaluable

I agree that the Aldonar represent one of our best avenues of success. I doubt anyone in our group is squeamish about dealing with a lich. We should certainly leverage our contacts with those in the Wizards Concillium and set up an audience as soon as can be arranged.

We should also seek out any useful allies who would be prepared to deal with us, if not the Halmadonians and their ilk.

Kudos - could you explore whether the Court of 1000 Swords would be interested in assisting?

Are there any senior contacts in the House of the Weaver we have established relations with, who we would be able to deal with? From my understanding, the Beholder might be able to provide us with all sorts of useful information. I imagine there may be more than a few within their Tower who are ill-disposed towards the activities of the Dymwan and Cadre over the years.

I would normally also suggest Necromancers (not necessarily from this Plane - we can still make contact with outsiders via the Plane of the Sleepless Dead), who would be interested in taking over Lord Cardinaris's realms should they be vacated. However, it may be more challenging - given the timescales involved - to co-ordinate such action with those based off-plane.

I shall make an official announcement to the Court when I am there in the coming weeks and seek their opinion.

To be frank I give it little hope they only have a rudimentary understanding of undead but every avenue is worth exploring.

Something, that I am sure has occurred to many of us, but I thought was worth raising:

We, as a Tower, have entered into an alliance with the Halamdonians to see the destruction of Cardonaris. This much is obvious.

By implication, such an alliance would end upon said destruction being enacted, barring other additional arrangements.

This leads to the following observation: It would not be in breach of the Halmadonian's code of honour to attack our group in such circumstances. With such a preponderance of those who support the Dreadlord amongst us and with the Dreadlord still being their next target one would have to accept that this is not unlikely.

Of course, one would have to suppose, the blade cuts both ways...

As the Dreadlord said before he departed, it is likely that there will be those amongst the Heights who will attack our group regardless of the Crusade - complete or not -, given our composition.

I am not overly concerned by this idea.

Additionally, the Dreadlord removed himself from our Tower to protect the members of Fortunes Keep from such an outcome. Should the Halmadonians wish to indulge in such games then I am sure there are interesting options to keep them engaged - and ultimately failing - in their overall objective.
