Favourite NPCs 6 Years ago Karma: 6
A simple question.

Who are your favourite NPCs in the system and why?

This probably wasn't the answer you were looking for (sorry ), but my list would have to have Atalante Darkstar, Abadon Dreamweaver, Patriarch of House Drannath (in certain incarnations).

Other than the obvious black pointy ears theme with the above, it's anybody who keeps you on your toes!! (Araikas, Snarlo etc)

Someone with power to make a difference, who listens to what you have to say (but how they respond i.e. favourably or not is immaterial).

On a lighter note, also NPCs who wear a long black cloak and/or velvet.

The Dreadlord, for the whole character interaction and plot for many many years. (for Gutrot that is!)

Bael, as he still scares the shit out of me.

Carrion, as you never really know what he is thinking or what he is going to do next.

Snarlow, as he is a git!

What? You fancy slim, dark gentleman too MBT? Good for you.

There is no answer I am "looking for" Sarah - your predilection for the tall, spikky and velvety is well known

Hmmmm Favourite NPCs. . . .

Dreadlord - Lots of history and just has that air of authority.

Snarlow - Probably the single most brain-melting NPC I've ever seen in action.

Bracken, I'm a pathfinder - Probably more for plot reasons but never has a red bandana and an innane grin caused more fear in a group of duergar.

Carrion - Only met him once or twice but he left a proper impression of badass killer with a personal mission.

With any NPC for me it's about the history they've got (that is relatively public, big NPCs with a backstory noone knows are pretty pointless. . that isn't to say the known backstory has to be true and accurate to the PCs mind you) and delivery of the role.

Snarlow has always been a favourite of mine - he is just pure evil and you never know what he was going to do next.

Carrion, love the delivery and how Rick plays him.

Can't say I have met the Dreadlord, but I hear he is very handsome, even if he has gotten a bit chubby of late

For me it's about the relevance, the history and air of authority, as well as an element of never knowing what they are about to do next.
