Hello 5 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello one and all.

I don't know.

I go away for a while and look at the place. The white retreat turns into a slum since all the nice people moved to a better area. Wolfhold is lost because the Dreadlord is wandering around trying to practice an evil laugh and gets mugged. All that time and effort to get a new king and he's gone as well.

Everyone is back squezed into the new old valley tower which is now lucky or some such.

I leave you lot on your own and the whole place has gone downhill fast

Anyway I hope everyone is well

Healing power of a not so small village.

Well god, and pysio willing a couple of months may well see me back in action again.

Depending on what is going on and transport I may make a few events this year. Monstering or playing, depends on what the events are.

As a side note where is the list of what the events are and who is doing them, all i can see is the names and the description of the next few. What are the themes for the rest of the year and which groups are doing them. It would be nice to know who is doing what before I consider playing, after all I may end up doing an adventure as the Squire and ending up with Yana's mob

Good oh!

If you hover over 'events' (when logged in), pick the 'who else has booked' option. That should give you most of what you're looking for.

Nowadays mixed rank parties are quite usual but people tend to stick to a reasonably common rank when able to do so.

Get fit and look forward to seeing you soon!

Other than a handful of people who like to show up as duergar together, and possibly the Corsairs, I don't think there are really any "groups" as of the times of old.

Which means it's easier for you to play who you want without fear

So no more Yana's rabble, no Orlando's mob, not even the sacred sword lads.

Thats sad really. They were good groups and having been together a while had a real character (beyond any individual characters or with Yana's lot raving looneys).

Is there no heroquest this year with a group who adventure together before hand or has it gone to rack and disordered ruin

I looked at the names but have no idea who most of them are so its hard to judge power levels.

Also where does it list which sites are for each event.

Also Also where do I catch up on all the rule changes mentioned in passing across the forum.

Also also also What is the valley alliance called now, is there a new tower sign, what about the old good and evil tower symbles, are they still used.

Lots more questions I'll save for the next post before my also's get too big

Hi Jim,

There are some of us who view the non-group thing as a positive, e.g. I never felt welcome with the Sacred Swords or YMCA, and an outsider with OOL. At least this way there isn't a clique!

To find the location, under EVENTS > Events Calendar, and choose the events from that page. At the buttom of each one it says, Location: blah (substitute blah )

Re getting up-to-date with the rules, I'd iterate down through the pages listed under the RULES menu (at the top), esp. all skills and invocations, and all magic/power spells. I don't know if we're out of the "playtesting" zone for some of the changes, so they might not be on the website, but these would include tending (dying) rules, and minimum damage per actual blow. Due to the IC craziness, guilds are also being re-organised but it's yet unknown what ramifications that will have in terms of teaching.

The Valley Alliance is now known as "Fortune's Keep" (Rednow Ffuts put the naming challenge out as a competition, and Spingle the goblin ranger came up with the winning name!) As far as I know the symbol is the same (black/white shield). The Shadowsfall can probably clarify any use of Wolfhold/White Retreat symbols, but I'd guess it's best not to advertise oneself as towerless

As dungeons are intended to be mixed rank, there is indeed a large mix of ranks on each, e.g. in March there are at least 3 or 4 people of approx rk 150 and over, but also a couple of people who are about rk 20-30. Due to minimum damage rule, this disparity isn't quite as great as it would have been a few years ago.

Hopefully this has answered some of your questions

Sarah

Well I would hate to be cliquey or elitist but I did enjoy the nature of the established groups as opposed to randomness of whoever is turning up that week.

Don't tell Yana that though, she could start to think I actualy enjoyed my adventures with the rabble

Ok so what is the minimum damage rule, what is tending now?

Where can I find the high level rules as I no longer have the printouts from years ago.
