Minimum Damage.

The way I understand it you always take single no matter what your AC (Im sure if vastly wrong ill be corrected)

This was basically introduced as it was near impossible to run single levelled dungeons as people wanted to play various things at various times. it also to a degree mitigates against power creep which was becoming an issue for example Sept monsters instead of being rare were becoming the norm.

It certainly makes a refs life easier in stating and brings back a bit of fear factor for the overpowered characters without taking away their powers they have worked hard to get.

personally I think having been very negative about it I am now convinced as a whole it is a good ideal and works.

Tending has replaced elixirs and allows the application of various levels of medical aid to a fallen comrade during or after a fight.

Other common things now used I can think of.

'Bane' damage takes your lowest AC

Gouls and Gast types only have a number of paralyses rather than every blow

Sure there's loads more!

Hello Jim, long time no speak to.
Min damage is you take a point of damage for each rank of the blow that your a/c stops, as a result of this the a/c cap limit has been raised and currently toughened skin gives you an extra rank of a/c as there is no bruising damage anymore.

eg. in a/c 20 you would take 1 point from a single, 2 from a double etc..... upto 5 from a quin. This applies to all forms of a/c including dex.

The shadowsfall confirmed to a party on the november event that for the time being they would continue to except white retreat and wolfhold colours.

Ok. Not a huge problem, if it means damage is reduced across the monster board it makes the Healers job easier as people will be taking a slow steady battering rather than a sudden flurry of the OCT in each hand monster

Right so the Shadowsfall have said that for the present the old colours are OK. Which means so of them will start a fight because we are wearing old colours and some will just be annoying. Standard Shadowsfall really.

Tending was in a state of, erm, testing when I last saw it so not a problem there.

What I could do with is reading up on the high level stuff if there is a current source for that. My printout of what it was is long gone.

Anyway what are the themes or lack thereof of adventures later in the year, if I can make a few I'd like to have an idea ahead of time what was going on.

Jim,

Themes are now very much the vehicle for communicating ongoing Orin Rakatha plotlines as well as updates/aftermath from specials and 5 days. Specials tend to be more standalone stories (though sometimes with ongoing links to previously run events) and 5 days are, as you'd expect, major missions.

This is just my perception of how things seem to be so are in no way cannon.

It is likely that you'll fight Khalid on most events at the moment!

As to high level stuff, pm me with your email address and I can pass on 128, 256 and HQ skills lists if that's of any help? Most peeps seem to use the (excellent) battleboard as the most accurate numerical system specifics. You can download it from the 'rules' tab above.

Some questions.

level 256 power Greater Invoke

New Invocation. Costs 10 power and takes 10 minutes to cast. Within the next 15 minutes can cast two vocal length 6-8 of named Sphere.

This is worse than an invoke 8 ??


Limit Raise (Power)

New limit max 300 Power. Available to Acolyte table only - Scouts may choose either Life, Mana or Power.

So at Rank 256 I can take this and then add one of my hero abilities on top ??

Can't remember if it's "worse" or not, but bear in mind that most sects/spheres couldn't cast such a thing, so this is a boon for us evil-doers, etc

FYI HQ is restructuring behind the scenes and we hope to have a new written rules system later this year - its taking a lot of arguing erm I mean debating to get an agreed system....
