hey all

want to say thank you to the refs for running such an awesome event, many moments of terror and laughter made it awesome.

Thanks to the catering staff alex for the beautiful food over the weekend.

thanks to the monster crew for all the great work you guys did in making it a sucessful event. to rachael for playing alawhen

thanks to the players for such a great time and some awesome pc interaction

fav bits.

NO.1 saturday nights mini rorkes drift. that was awesome though i did think at one point this will turn to mini issandlwana but we held out.

the spirit of alawhen turning up moment. though it was quite an awesome bit meeting a dead person and talking to them. wow. very personal and very emotional for the character.

the sleepers mission was great fun, trying to work out how to do the puzzle (second puzzle was a lot easier hehe)

it was fun being a druid for the first time. this event was absolutely awesome.

I'd just like to say a huge thanks to all of the players, monsters and refs and chef for a really top notch event.

Special thanks to those that set up the ritual site. It looked absolutely awesome.

As to the ritual, thanks to Rach for the boiling wax on my hand and thanks to Claire for the bowl of cold water to put my hand in.

Very much enjoyed running Paul's breif to assault the base on the Saturday night. It was clearly apparent that the atmosphere was growing as the parties resources were shrinking. And those messages just kept getting worse.

The final assault after the high levels arrived reminded me of why the Khalid always provide a top class mosh.

Thanks also to PPP for all of the hard work they have done so far and all the work yet to come. Change can always be a challenge but I genuinely believe that what's being done is of benefit to the entire club. Keep it up guys.

This weekend reinforced what I love about HQ. The companionship, the laughter, the teamwork and the feeling of a good job well done.

Final thanks to the weather for being so accomodating.

Hope to see alot of you in November.

Laters

I echo this, its difficult as the whole picture isn't out there yet but where would be the fun in that

Hi

Good to see everyone, and meet a whole bunch of cool new(ish) people for the first time

Kudos for all the hard work put into this event by the reffing and administration team, I think it paid off.

Loved Dave G's zen garden for the Ritual of Ancestors - the man is a creative (and practical) genius!

Big thumbs up to Alex for the food

Also, well done to anyone who recognised the tune sang by Isabella on Friday night... you have obviously watched Return of the King a few times! It's Pippin's song - 1 minute video here: youtu.be/WskRAEggqkQ

sorry to the guy playing pippin but you sang it so much better hes dragged out without enough emotion. plus sounds better in higher pitch.

did recognise it though. it is a beautiful song, but the ritual was incredible.

Huge thanks from me to everyone who made Requiem such an enjoyable event, the refs (all 213 of them), the monsters (who did a great job throughout playing everything from solemn ritualists to poo-flinging monkey-beasts) and of course the players.

Highlights for me is difficult with the best thing being the atmosphere on the event itself, seeing everyone so friendly, enthusiastic and involved in what was going on. Going from reflection and a sense of peace on the Friday made the tension building all day on the Saturday all the more palpable. The looks of certain people's faces when the Shadowsfall announced the results were beautiful to behold

The Kalid shield-wall fight on Saturday night was a corker.

Bantering with the party (the Corsairs in particular) as the Kalid known in the monster base (and the brief) as Mr Sneery was a favourite point of mine.

Skorch proving that youth and enthusiasm will beat age and cynicism every time (someone buy that lad some nice lead boots and some very heavy plate mail please) - fantastic throat slit in the last encounter.

Thanks once again to you all - we literally couldn't do it without you.

What a great event indeed! I was saddened to see so many of those familiar names go down into the history books forever but that added to the significance of the ongoing changes! Change is healthy, i agree its time to make some new stories with the new players out there!

Pat we did love Mr.Sneery it was nice to be acknowledged in Character!

As much as Collin the Magic Rapist was tough for our party of mostly evil priests, we did love the Kalid slaying! So much so that when you came in to deliver your we are coming to get you speech on Saturday night, Sutnak Anthrax and myself spent 30 minutes hiding in the bushes preparing our special welcome for you!!! Well worth the look of surprise as i got a proper sneaky throat slit off!

Looking forward to more!

Agreed, another excellent event.

Being told by "Mr Sneery" that the Khalid wanted to recruit everyone except for Maggot gave me a warm glow inside.

Also no longer having to kneel in the Dreadlord's presence is a nice little bonus.

The "blind retreat" was hilarious despite the fact I didn't think any of us were coming back from that one.
(thanks Alex )

I doubt I'll be able to make it in November but I'll almost certainly see some of you at Christmas.

L8R,
Adam.

Yep, I really do have to re-iterate all the plaudits for crew/chef/monsters/refs. Just sorry I had to leave early, with the tantalising memory of that breakfast (that I couldn't eat)waved under my nose by Alex, with the best of intentions !

I know that the shortcomings of my gammy knee dictated a lot of static stuff for the low-level party, so I very much appreciated the concern shown by refs and players. Invidious to single out individuals, but Alariel did always seem to be "minding" me at the back - thanks buddy !

p.s. Colonoscopy went off OK today - now antibiotics and more tests needed, but heigh-ho, nobody said life had to be fair. Fingers crossed that physio and painkillers will allow me to do the Yule, although Ember Nights is looking doubtful.
p.p.s No alcohol for me for 2 weeks, Sarah - maybe I'll lose the taste for it <VBG>
