Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me out...
trying to flesh out a new pc and got a bucket full of questions LOL.
fancy playing a warrior ,,,,, do i have to join a warrior guild or can you seek permission to act as muscle for a non warrior guild ?
how many character points do you start with, how many do you gain for playing in events.
heard a rumour you can pre spend exp,,, is this true ?
thanks for any help

I'll answer the ones i defo know about

40 points for a 3 day event like the one we just did for a 4 day special its 70 and for a heroquest 5-6 day its a 100 points.

you can only be a warrior in warrior guilds due to the fact that they will only be able to use warrior abilities.

although the gauntlet priests do act like warriors and make people stronger.

prespend not too sure about.

Hiya

Characters start from 0 points but with a set of basic skills (e.g. can use any weapon, can apply bandages, have 5 power etc). As you've already played you would have 40 points from the last event towards your character.

Pre-spend depends on the ref, character level, and relative levels of other characters on the event - best to check with HQ Admin before a dungeon.

You don,t need to join a Guild until your 200 points and earn your first rank of 'Status' which you have to pledge to a figure of authority eg Guild Leader hence giving you chance to scope things out.

You can in certain circumstances join non warrior Guilds eg the Hospital Guard but these guilds tend to have rules which you will be expected to follow.

There are no mercenary guilds to speak of the closest is probably the Iron Guard which is full of a ramshackle lot of thugs, grunts and pirate types which will do stuff for a few gest however valley law still applies and is enforced upon all equally.

Hello,

As MBT said you don't need to formally choose a guild until you reach 200 points. With the current IC state of the Guild structure it may be best to wait a while until things start to calm down a bit.

Technically all adventurers are mercenaries, in that they are paid to fight the Valley's enemies, - Arrol, my warrior, certainly fits that archetype and he is a Ranger (the Neutral Warrior Guild). There would be nothing wrong with choosing that your character associates with any guild you want to and that they arrange for you to receive your warrior training from the Barracks (the main warrior training area). A mage-guard would be interesting and the many of the sects are heavily linked to the martial orders. If you have any particular ideas in mind feel free to drop a line to myself, Pete or Paul and we'll give you some advice on the best way to approach such a character.

Cheers
