Hello to all that read this, and a big thank you to everyone at candlestone who made my week as thoroughly enjoyable as ever! The heavy hail showers gave us some seriously atmospheric fights, especially when they start just as we'd set for a really tough fight in the wood at night.
The company was good and the ale flowed freely. Can you really ask for more? And the food was good too.
I will hope to see you all soon,
Kakarot

Yes was quite manic turned up Friday aftternoon to play 4th spear man on the left and well needs must

Big thanks to all the players for understanding the circumstances hopefully most came across sort of as Pat intended
And to all the monsters who helped glue it together especially Iain for kit wallering.

Yes the weather was interesting me trying to convince you as Andrew that I had bent reality to make it sunny for the Veltain fight and casting Hellstorm on the Friday night as the Kalid dreamer i don't know such unbelievers

I'd like to chime in with my thanks as well.

To the players for being a sound bunch and a great group regardless of weather or other hardships, including the perilous start of an overland with _NO BEER_ shocking!
- Special thanks to Rob for running back for the Beer on said overland.

To the monsters and ref(s) for managing despite missing a key part of the team for keep things moving along and providing some entertaining fights and a few threads of us to follow.

The usual "Best Bits":

* Delta's masterly summation of the content of our group following _that_ conversation.
* Mindflayer brains and Tornados outraged reaction to the effect it had on him
* Ians outraged roleplaying in the Veltyn fight "I keep trying to do stuff and my head hurts!" thanks
* Stephs editorial mastery and superb delivery of the fellowship story. Luvvie.
* Several instances of party cock-waving in the guise of "what do we do to put you down if you get dominated" . . . sadly Delta wins with the casual response of "not much"
* Having enough wood to make people moan our Yurt was too hot
* Goblin Horde! "What does utter curse do?" . . "takes away all your AC". . "really? shit better give me some curing then"
* Spider Charge. . . bloody Goblins are slippery buggers.

Finally. Get well soon Pat.

And everyone remember to sacrifice their first born, a tenth of their worldly wealth or something else important to pray for good weather in May . . . .otherwise we might have to rely on MBT and he likes hailstorms!

I would like to say a massive thanks to everyone who made the event go so well despite the obvious problems with the weather gods and illness - did we ever figure out who was patient zero in the tummy bug?

many thanks to Pat for writing it - alhough he was sadly called away before seeing his vision unfold

huge thanks to Nick & MBT who stepped into the breach in a tag team like way

special mention for Iain who took on kit wallah duties and Stephan for making the whole story work, Alex for assisting geatly and all the other monsters for giving it their all with enthusiasm

I jus hope we managed to do pats work justice as well as we possibly could without him. Hope he knows out thoughts are with him.

And as for memorable bits.. my "first encounter" with the party as i was being shown to the toilets will always stick with me "OMG is that a girl, quick get the sausages out" hehehe. would love to know who that was.

I have deffinately gotten the LARP bug and Anthony and Myself have already been plotting away in corners at work (its not so fun when you do it at home lol) as to what events we can get off successfully to join you all again.

Untill then, thank you all SO SO SO much for your care and help, and helping me have my very first, very unforgettable, and one i will cherish forever, LARP event.

See you all as soon as possible.

Great write-up Simon, thanks very much for doing that (and Pete for the final "Goblin Horde" ending. . I was laughing at that bit).

You managed to capture the salient points of the plot (as much as I can remember ) which is kind of the point but you also managed to sum up the party spirit and approach with your writing style (i.e. abrupt with little pissing about )

Good stuff. . . don't forget your pen and book on your next event, you do realise you are typecast for life now right. Still at least you make some money out of it.

I would like to add my thanks to all involved.

To the party for putting up with the grumpy Duergar at times, we keep each other going and without you all it really wouldn't of been the same.

To Alex for some wonderous food.

To the monsters for always being there. Special mention to Faye and Anthony for being super brilliant.

To Pete, Nick, MBT, Alex S for keeping the event going and Steph for a superb white retreat history re-write.

And last but not least Pat for writing the thing in the first place and putting to bed squidy at last.
(get yourself fixed up soon)

Special special thanks to Simon and Pete for a superb write up of the event. (pete, that last bit was so kakarot)

cheers all

Mark.

yep i would like to offer mythanks as well, to alex, pete, pat and everyone else who made this enjoyable

fav bits-

-vally alliance zombie impresion
-proper reaper baiting kylar vs vallon whos a better reaper
-learning to remember not to touch the obvoiuse fireball necklass of doom trap (when will snorri learn not to touch, chuckle)
-creating the blanks such as the bdsm master and porn master (well that what you get if you let a goblin, a pirate and bruce create personalities for impressionable blank fragments)
-ivaks fireball attack on kakarot and then having to put out his now on fire hair
-not letting the first unkillable kallid get his big impressive 'im a big hard unkillable kalid' speech out, just running at them

bad stuff-
-twisting my knee 2nd night in not beeing able to scout as much as i liked
-hail and rain (nuff sed)

just to say simon loved the report, and also like shuan loved the goblin hoard ending. but it looks like you may have to be scribe most times out now?!
