It was a brave and bold endeavor and all credit to GBS ref team for a fab event and to Mike and the 3 Ps for letting them try, great crew great party and great weather.

Fave bits

Being able to play the humact spirt nice relaxing afternoon

The time freeze kalid fight on Thursday night

The old men of HH 'oh me poor hip'

The realm Lord battle so so wanted to be in the party at that point.

And finally the parties faces when I had gone to monster for herofest and they bumped into me 'Im the Skeleton of Doom'

Yep, It was an Excellent event with First class monsters and ref team so thanks to all from me.

Really enjoyed the huge fight with 'the cattle' against a rather trim looking Puke and Dymwan cohort. And also taunting Tiresias in the last fight!

Favourite bit wasn't an encounter though, it was finally relaxing on Saturday night round the fire with pretty much job done on the mission and nothing to think or worry about.

Shame about the dead Humacti though.

Next on to the write up...

Cheers,
Looking forward to October, only 5 months to go.

Mick.

A great event to retrunt to HQ after a long absence. So nice to see everyone again, and discover how many people have become or are about to become parents.

Big thanks again to everyone in the HQ crew - refs, monsters, everyone - the hard work and attention to detail you went to to entertain, challenge, and look after us players was fantatstic.

Favourite bits:
- the big fights - incredible!
- watching Alex etc roll up the Festers like a breaking way.

Bits I'd wished I'd seen - Anthrax & Sutnac slapping down a whole faction.

All in all, it was good chat around the fire, to go through the hard fights and spooky encounters, and just be there. I though the Quest/Fest mix worked pretty well and would be happy to do it again - especially if we get another big battle!

Looking forwards to October.

I agree, a bold idea, executed brilliantly. Having been to Herofest before, I did wonder how the rest of the factions would tolerate something new like us, especially working to different rules. But it seemed to work well. Having so many extra (effectively) npcs around provided an enormous amount of extra colour, even if it did make us behave in very un-valley like ways.

Fave bits:

Big battle with Puke-lite and chums

Battles with Kalid, when outnumbered

Interactions with the Vampires of Dark Pass

Trash-talk around the fire

Unfortunately I won't be at the next one. After his heroic performance as chief vet to the cattle at the big Puke battle, I will be spending time founding the Herofest faction the 'Nation of Nathan'. It will consist largely of both healers, evil power users, and of course, goblins. Our symbol will be a very leaky tent, our motto - 'what would Nathan do?'. New members welcome.

We had a great weekend. Thanks to SGB for running the dunj.
Crew was a lot of fun to be around with a great atmosphere. Party were great opponents, lots of smiles (seemingly) all around- nice to see so many friendly faces.
I'm sure some things could have gone better, and many could have gone worse overall though i think the chaps can be rightly proud to acheive quest fest, exemplified brilliantly in the big battle and the Death knight sequences.
the scale of the big fight was something unatainable at Quest and the party being attacked by the 50 or so monsters left after rolling the festers was very cool.
My fave moment though has to be Alex's beheading of the fester during the questors battle board classic!

I would also like to thank the huge amount of people that helped make the event what it was.

The monsters, for not only bringing the brief alive and "making" the event, but also for being extremely good humoured throughout and being very helpful in managing the logistics of the event. Not least the final bit of packing up, allowing SGB to be able to leave at a reasonable hour!! With a crew like them we can't go far wrong - see you all in October he says hopefully

Special thanks also to Tom for help setting it up after a few days of Fest setting up.

The food as always was top notch and kept us going - thanks to the team that supplied that.

Also great thanks to the players for making it all worth while. You stuck with us and remained good humoured through good and bad and bought into the whole idea. As always there were a few things that I would have wished to have worked out differently and some things we would probably change with the benefit of hindsight, but you gracefully glossed over these issues for which I thank you.

Huge thanks to my partners in crime, Shaun and Gav and many congratulations to Gav for his first stint at main ref and the huge amount of work he did in pulling it all together - good work.

Loved the big fights and the looks on party faces and also enjoyed the campfire banter - you B*****s for not keeping the return of Nathan quiet.

Very much looking forward to October and retiring from reffing once again ........

Hi all,
Big thanx to Sean, Gav and Bruce for attempting something new!

Next time i would let us interact a little more ... personally i think it would have been great for the Festers to see the Questers in action - firstly to show them how much fun HQ fights are secondly so they understand we dont follow the same rules! The big fight on the dunes we were too spread out chasing down the dymwan, if there had been a big HQ monster squad like the Death Knight swatting Festers down, then they would have all had some respect for us taking 30 mins to kill him!

Unfortunately i think we were too huddled in a bush for them to see us actually take the death knight down.

Apart from that i was in Humakti heaven. Very much enjoyed the plot, always wanted to get some first hand Aldonar experience.

Great to see some old friends, on both sides. Hugely enjoyed getting staffed on the head 6 times by the George Zombie! Thought for a second Miles had joined the monster crew.

Out Thugging some festers with Anthrax and Barney was great fun. We just happened to be walking by as they started insulting Barney, then as they thought we were ripe for a mugging they got some Valley diplomacy!

I was hoping to make June but something may have come up. But definitely up for a Chisslehurst Cave event. That will be Spesh too!

Dream on, we've already got the pub meet booked in early December to seed the next set of ideas for 2013 don't you worry.

I just wanted to add my thanks to everyone involved also. Gav especially for popping his cherry in what could have been a very difficult situation but he handled it marvellously owing in part to the flexibility and acceptance of the players.

Personal highlights for me were:

* Irwins freakout following Garrett, Anthrax and Sutnacs run in with the first three vampires and the growing paranoia that perhaps the party had been lied to and _everyone_ over the ridge was as hard as those vampires! Some great roleplaying going on with Irwin and Kalliste.

* the Zombies of peril on the way to exiting the plane. It was hard to tell who was laughing more the party or the zombies. . oh well.

* The Dune battle. Watching the party form a small knot on top of the knoll utterly surrounded by undead gave me a bit of a thrill.

* The Deathknight. Nuff said really.

* Being mercilessly taunted and teased in the final fight. You are all mean to the poor mad old bugger

* The Sun coming out on Friday and never really going away. . thank god. If it had kept up like the week running up to it I hate to think what would have happened.

Right well I best get on and start planning and plotting!

A big thanks to Gav(well done mate)and bruce and shaun for running the event.
A big thank you to the monster crew, your hard work and effort made the event what it was.
favourite bits

Being scared to death of going to the loo on my own incase I got attacked by a horde of festers LOL
Watching a death knight beat his way through 2 armies before beheading an unfortunate fester(great job Alex )
The double assault on the Dymwan standered bearer by Vallen and Sutnac- didn't go quite to plan but it was a good effort.
The big battle and getting surrounded by undead(great fun)
The last fight with Tiresius- being cheeky was incredably satisfying but not sure it was worth the kicking I got for it LOL.
Once again a big thank you to everyone who was involved I really can't wait for the third and final instalment

I'd like to thank Bruce, Shaun and Gav for a great plot, that we could follow (kinda ) and the party for being so positive throughout.
I looked at my fellow crew members and it was a solid fighting group. At least 4 of the Super-Heavyweight Tower were there, and the party didn't back down once. Brilliant fighting against such a determined group.
We all had a great time monstering against you and there was not a single gripe or complaint back in monster base.

My fav moments, I guess the DeathKnight was pretty cool. Definitely. I love beating the arrogant out of people. 'I do not fear you!' 'Fine, die then... It's a learning curve'

Khalid fight as the first encounter on Sunday, my fellow monsters did me proud.

Three of us taking on the Jewelled Pavilion and another 40 Festers and winning twice, before being scragged by numbers. Ace fight against the wiggly hips...

Avoiding the party on the dune so Nic and I could play Legolas and Gimli at Helm's Deep. I think I won, but only by a fine margin. We each killed more than 20 Festers. Madness, slaughter followed by giggling.

Only thing I'll have to say is Old Tight-ass is significantly more scary at night. The Randolphin Glass-cannon item is fully charged in the morning.

All in all, a brilliant weekend. Thanks folks.
*sniff sniff* I love you all... *sniff*
