I would like to report that we have slain Lord Carfleen, Tower Leader of Barad Tirgul, along with a number of his most senior lieutenants and apprentice.

The Shadowsfall have since declared a Time of Reckoning.

We discovered that Carfleen sought to summon the Witch King to Orin Rakatha. This led to an unusual temporary alliance of forces in the area, attacking strategically to weaken Carfleen's defences and rituals.

The towers we worked with to ensure that the Witch King was not summoned to our plane were the Labyrinth of Xenos, Kalid, Halmadonians and monks of Saldor.

Prior to this action, we learned that the numbers of uruks under Carfleen's control meant that Barad Tirgul would have enough status for more than one extra tower.

Destroying Carfleen should mean that the uruk population decreases, as he was the only one able to produce these creatures at such a prolific rate.

I praise the bravery of all those involved in the slaying of Lord Carfleen, who as a Tower leader must have been exceptionally powerful.

Let's hope that Barad Tirgul now comes more under the sway of the 'The Houses' and less under those factions who support The Witch King. This can hopefully only lead to a more stable (and therefore more diplomatically approachable) Tower.

I wonder if there is some way to influence this?

Ichabod.

Ichabod,

With regards to your question: during our time in Lastgate Wood, we held a number of useful conversations with the Lord of the Houses, and he indicated he would have a much more favourable outlook towards us.

One interesting question is whether/how Barad Tirgul organise to gather together their status in time. I imagine a great deal of it would have been with the lieutenants and Lord Carfleen, who were all removed. The Lord of the Houses held all the status of those who were within the Houses.

Another interesting question is how the uruks will act now that their creator is no longer around to direct them.

Baron Soulfire,

And hello Ichabod my dear friend,

Hopefully I will be able to give you an answer on Uruk-hai movements and numbers in the next couple of weeks once I have sifted through Pathfinder and Forestal field reports.

Kind regards

Baron Soulfire,

As requested I can now confirm the following regarding Uruk-hai numbers and movements.

Locally groups have been reported to be aggressively attacking anyone that they encounter including other groups of Uruk-hai with some reports of in fighting within their own groups.

Further afield it is about the same; however around Halmadons Heights a larger number were seen to gather numbering some 200 plus these were last reported marching off into the Mists.

Generally numbers can be seen to be declining rapidly but no doubt groups in the field should expect to still encounter Uruk-hai currently.

Kind regards
