TOPIC: An envoy from the Thissessin Tower
#11889
An envoy from the Thissessin Tower 5 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 11
An envoy from the Thissessin Tower has today visited the Groves and wishes the following to be known.

‘The fire that plagued our children’s eyes is now gone, the vision is now clear. The people of the Calix have shown great strength and we beseech them to share our vision’

I hope this makes sense to someone.

An interesting message.

I immediately thought of Calix Wraithspawn, Dymwan High Priest, whom I expect to meet in a few weeks at Gilden Far in an effort to conclude this tiresome business with Tiresias. The thought of The Dymwan acting to aid the Thissessin doesn't seem to ring true to me however (although stranger things have happened).

The only other reference I know is to the River Calix that runs close by Fortunes Keep and then on towards the Dragur Forest and the Rainbow Lake. So perhaps the message references us? Or maybe the river folk?

Mere musings only.

The Thissessin have long been known to act as the scouts of Barad Tirgul (their Towers are reasonably close) and indeed all those we met - and killed - a few weeks ago were directly assisting the forces of the late Lord Carfleen.

A fiery eye seems to be symbolic of Morgoth/the Witch King.

The Thissessin tend to navigate Orin Rakatha by rivers, so the people of the Calix could well be us, as we live by the River Calix (although the Tombs of the Dymwan also appears to lie on its path).

I would interpret this message as saying that following the death of Lord Carfleen, the Thissessin are no longer under sway of the followers of the Witch King. The people of the Kern Valley have shown great strength (in helping defeat Carfleen), and they wish us to share their vision - whatever that may be.

The Thissessin made there choice to be of Aid to Carfleen.
Now he is slain they seek forgivness and permission to travel our lands.
They should be treated with contempt and slain upon sight.

Vallan,

It sounds like you've suffered at the hands of the Thissessin and want to exact some revenge?

If it is true that the yoke of Barad Tirgul has been lifted from these people then they may be looking to start afresh and make new alliances.

Choices that prove to be bad can be acknowledged and amends can be made.

It is often difficult to put aside the past and make peace, however that is what always must be done, eventually at least.

I would expect now to be a good time to send an ambassador to them. Sounds like a job for the mighty Kudos.

Ichabod

You are a well known and brilliant scholar who has my greatest of respect but we will have to agree to disagree.

My eyes were opened on my last mission from the towers.
Nearly ever member of our party fell to the enemy most loosing much strengh of spirit in the vicious unrelenting fighting we were forced to endure.

The Thissessin stalked and hunted our party through the forests and attacked us without remourse at any opertunity. These disgusting creatures should be hunted down and slain

When the kalid attacked our people did they listen to cry's of mercy for there children from dying mothers NO !

When the Urak rampage across our land do they spare the weak and the infirm from there clubs and blades NO !

When our Priests are stolen from us are they treated well as prisoners NO !

The enemies of the kern Vally should be slaughtered and eventually eradicated from the history of Orin Rakatha.
Giving them no chance to ever strike at our people again.

Ask No Mercy From He Who Has Been Shown No Mercy

We keep helping these slimebags and all we ever get from them is bitchin' and moanin' or outright hostility.

Unlike Vallan I'm not going to go out of my way to murder any but I certainly won't think twice about putting them in the ground if there's even a chance that they might be in my way.

I would agree with Baron Soulfires analysis of the content bar the fact that the River Calix no longer runs by the Tombs of the Dymwan as they have moved to the Oasis of Souls.

Of course Ichabod I would only be too pleased to act as Diplomatic Envoy, however I have been assigned duties closer to home which I must attend to first.

Has anyone spoke to any of their Crocodile Shaman recently?

Vallan I sympathise with your feelings but must chose to disagree with your prescribed course of action.

As far as my understanding with regards to the Thissessin Tower we have had generally reasonable relationships with them.

The fact they have delivered this message and the nature of its content does warrant further investigation.

All the best

We spoke to one not long ago. He kept repeating 'imself and was generally weird. So pretty much like most shamans you meet...

The Darkness in my soul agrees with Vallan and says that we should slay all who attack our people, showing no mercy, eradicating them from this land. But the Light within me pleads for calm and forgiveness.

I hope the Sun is shining when next we meet.
