thanks to refs, monsters, cooks, and players alike for a fun-filled weekend.
Sorry i wasn't there for most of friday night, but duty called.
I had a really great time, and sincerely hope I did NOT give any of the film crew nightmares... as they claimed. No-one backed up my claim to be a big cuddly teddy bear. (Thanks for all your support, folks)

Fav bits: dunno really, generally mincing stuff with an Arm of Might, thanks Anthrax, while protected by big fields, thanks to all the mages there.
Definitely watching the 'evil' people playing maim snooker, and watching the noble Lord Giles getting stuck in too claiming dead colours.
Being weaknessed to the floor, having a film girlie say snidely 'oh so you're finally dead' only to have Giles fix me up and then seeing their faces when I steamed into them for the umpteenth time.
Oh yes, smashing up the low level hordlings... or party members, depending on your point of view.
One last word... PARRY

Another excellent event I had a fall from beginning to end so thank you to all involved.

Best Bits:
* Sunday mornings discussions around Human Politics and Duergar opinions on it;
"I dunno how humans keep track, you don't see duergar fighting other duergar it's always cave nancies or dwarves"
"What about those duergar you were fighting on the last mission?"
"Them, they were splitters not proper duergar"
"and the warrior from Agraathan"
"Aye him too"
* The gallant retreat of the low levels from the initial wave of Xenos drones on saturday morning.
* Cheering on Slag on during the Halmadonnian teleportation fight. . . Booo Jack the Killstealer
* Turning into Hordlings when the mist descended and throughly confusing the monsters by leading them back to the building to burn it down!
* The parties reaction to Bracken showing up again and the completely convincing disguise worn by the "Observer"
* A thoroughly engaging vision. To the point that even the usually rowdy members of the group were little disappointed that we had to go and sort out the Melnoboneans when they showed up. . . although we were slightly mollified by having Kylar chop his own hand off.
* A certain Drow Sorcerer coming up with "Pocket Schlop"
* Corsair commentary on various private conflabs being carried out beyond hearing at the front of the building and some excellent timing from the involved participants.
* Being taught about "invoking" by Anthrax . . we bow at the feet of the master.

Generally continuing in the vein of January in being an awesome year . . long may it last.

Shaun.

once again another superb event! Many thanks to all the other players, refs, monsters, film crew and cooks!

Fav bits.

All the purple boy stuff.

The slag cheering squad and all the comments that were made during that whole fight. If the 'high levels' had heard them then I think we would of been in some serious trouble.

Pocket schlop! (baby and grape, bad boy pat!)

the vision ( was really getting into that and was quite annoyed when it got interrupted)

Friday night plotting.

Many many more...........

once again thanks all for a top weekend.

Mark.

I would like to say many thanks to the *very* hard working monsters who did such a great job over the weekend (particularly with my contsant berating to move faster, kit up faster, move the bags faster etc.). As it was we were often sliding masks into place and kicking kit bags behind bushes just as the scouts came round the corner (as I was whispering stats and brief into the monsters ears).

Thanks to Mike for coordinating the overall event.

Thanks to the low-level party for being such a good-natured bunch. It's always a pleasure to referee for enthusiastic players and I hope as many of you as possible can attend my other dungeons this year (June Special, Spetember Adventure Weekend and October HQ). Likewise anyone wishing to give a bunch of purple faced, bearded *Dwarves* a good shooing would be more than welcome.

Obligatory Fave Bits

The party being thrilled to see their old pal Bracken the pathfinder (Murandir division, not to be confused with the Bracken formerly assigned to Akari or any of the other 15 Brackens in the Pathfinders guild).

The Blue Bobbly Elemental of Doom!!! on Saturday night and the increasingly casual Melniboneans as they realised that the party could not hurt their "creation".

The hugely successful halt-powerdrain combo on the Lizardmen, unfortunately countered by a sneaky monster who remembered that they could cast power-gift. It was the only encounter the party really used power-drain and one of only two encounters where the monsters had good power

Invoking as a Melnobonean guard less than 40ft. from the party and wondering (with fellow caster Anthony) why the party weren't breaking us out. That must have been some story you were telling them Pete!

hey all

I want to say a huge thank you to the cooks the food was excellent and the same to the refs for a great event.

Thank you to all the players and monsters for making it such a fun interactive event with the mention and involvement of two of my characters most hated enemies been a constant in the event.

Fav bits:

Drall finally telling the druegar how it is in the mens when one of the duegar was on their own with khandis on one side with my hammer and thralk with my dagger on the other i got a good chuckle.

The ranting and discussions of politics at night and in the day,

The combat definantly for beating on lots of monsters specially when it turned to melee fighting and it was pure aggression took hold to fight them down.

Realising i'd dropped my hammer and a monster was standing over it driving leitha crazy.

the interactiveness of the characters.

And so much more i cant begin to say them all or we wont have any page left.

Hey I also want to say a MEGA thanks for this dungeon, I really loved it, so kudos to the extremely hard-working refs (Mike, Pete, Pat and George) and monsters for this one. Great plot

Fave moments

- all drow encounters (of which there were many) and of course seeing my favourite old acquaintance again
- getting distracted "I must impress the importance of this upon you... oooh, biscuits!"
- lighting very blue touch paper with the word "Paullandiss"
- shrouded eye on Sunday morning:

"what are you doing here?"
"we've come here to wipe all drow from the face of the lands"
"well why don't you start with me then?"

- Patriarch of Valdurim:

"is someone invoking?"
"er no, one of our party is singing. Do you wish it to stop?"
"oh no, it's quite pleasant"
"if you say so, Lord Bloodheart"

I totally agree with everyone, another great event.
As always thanks to refs, monsters, cooks and fellow players.

Fav bits:

* The look on Giles face when I so very nearly got him to toast the king.
* The look on Kevralin's face when I mentioned the news of two Wolfhold lords dying.
* The look on Pat's face as we casually walked through the Morgothian checkpoint on our Drow escort mission with no Drow in sight. Curses, foiled!
* Pat failing miserably to keep a stern, Drow countenance during the hilarious Sunday morning "escort" duty section conversation.
* Getting caught by the mists and being beaten to a pulp only to come back as a hordeling to assault the waystation. I thought it was all going so well as I chased my fellow lows off the porch but then Slag (gimme an "S", gimme an "L".. ) turned up. He's our hero.

Oh and Pat, I was trying to convince the purple boys to come and help break you out of your casting but to say that getting them to do anything that doesn't involve beer (sorry Pete ) is like herding cats is an enormous understatement. Next time I'll tell them that the enemy are doing some kind of brewing ritual...

L8R,
Adam.

Hey! had there not been a very interesting vision going on we'd have gone out into the dark scary mists and kicked the melnobs. . . as it was we actually were interested in a bit of plot that wasn't beer related . You might have missed it but there was quite a shocking revelation for your purple skinned comrades during that section one that could quite possibly bite us quite hard on the bottom in the near future.
