A brief note to say thank you for this event.

Understood the scenario, enjoyed the mission. Thanks to Sarah, all the refs, the splendid monster crew, Carina and Cat, and the rest of the party.

Best moments

Poison Grove looked most impressive

Second fight with the Shark God (revenge is sweet)

Ghosts acting out the poison manufacture

All in all, I had a brilliant time

My thanks too to refs, monsters, caterers, admin and the party. Had a great time, many fights, laughs, roleplaying and some great discussions and debates.

Special thanks to Caradac and his back-story. It gave us many happy hours of interaction, emotion and argument.

Very much enjoyed the diversity of plot and the history that aspects were sourced from. The shark cult, sector 7, the Taranor, the Ravanon, Garamites, the Sativa, Murandir (past and present) and of course internal and external tower politics.

Best bits:

Mass Heal.
The Garamite king fight
The Shendai dream sequence
The party as a whole
The party’s front line (no, that does not include you Mr. Bramble)
Excellent monster necklines and a respectable use of many and varied masks and make-up
A genuine impression that visiting delegates were being swayed by our arguments
Chatting with Belem De Traverny. What a nice man.
Suggesting a solution to Caradac’s question: “How do I know she’s my sister?”
Being a half-orc.

Respect to Logan. What a fine, safe, friendly and competent new monster to have on the team.

Worst bits:

None worthy of note. Though the wind, rain, hail and puddles on the flood-meadow ritual site were a mite chilly after a while.

Memorable conversation:

Female green wizard arrives at door.

[Smudge] Ah, you must be bringing a message from Sorcerer Ebonheart?
[Wizard] No, from Sorcerer Daedalus.
[Smudge] Ah, not from Sorcerer Ebonheart then?
[Wizard] Ummm…no, sorry.
[Smudge] What if it’s from Sorcerer Daedalus Ebonheart?
[Wizard] Ah… Shit.
[Smudge] Would you like to go out and come back in again?
[Wizard] I think I’d best...

Finally, special thanks to Sarah for an excellent event. Additional thanks to Garret for being my third leg!
We must do it again sometime. Anyone fancy going to war?

Top job.

Rich.

Thanks to all the crew, cooks, refs and fellow adventurers. It was a memorable, awesome and exhilarating first HQ for me.
I am so sorry I wasn't able to be there for the whole thing, and very 'grateful' for the supportive comments from fellow party members re my sleeping through the first day.... don't you know it takes quite a while to wake up a stone? Sheesh.
There was so much that I have already forgotten a few encounters, some of it was a blur, but there are some moments that stand out.
Standing with Smudge taunting Saldorians
Protecting the squishies while they were earthquaked
Killing Chioma's troll with Maggot
Having Pat dive across me to protect me while maimed
Whaling away on Lancet, receiving at least seven shield-arm bonebreaks.
Disarming Sarah and NOT getting owned, unlike doing the same to the mistweaver (owieeee)
Destroying the mushroom grove
But the stand-out, most memorable, most influential moment of the entire event... Lord Giles called Slag a 'thickie'.

Thanks to Corrina for the pills, thanks to Neil for his boots, you two are ace.

I'd like to say a big thanks to the following people:

Rich Hale, Alex White and Mike Penny for making some awesome props - evil mushrooms, garamite king crown, waystation signs, door to Sector 7

Corinna and Cat for feeding us tasty and varied food for several days

Bruce for player-reffing as the canary

Neil and Sky for set-dressing... sorry there were so many changes, guys!

Jem for assistant reffing, putting up with me, and his attention to detail esp on the costumes of the NPCs who sent in.

Karl for his amazing knowledge of where everything was, please can you monster every event I ever run from now on!!

Pete and Rick for their considerable help with the background plot

The wonderful monster crew who endured so many masks and make-up for 5 days - my next dungeon will be much more human-orientated!!
Mark aka Lan'Cet, Mark aka the King, Alex, Seb, Chioma, Logan, Ken, Fraser, Nick, Bill, Alis, Paul, the film crew guy (eek, hope I haven't missed anyone!!) - you were all brilliant & thanks for staying cheerful throughout

A special note to MBT as the Garamite King who did all his vocals in an eeevil twisted voice and then couldn't speak properly for the next few days

HQ Admin (i.e. Paul) and SFB for their help with dungeon logistics

Shaun & Gavin loaning me props for the event

Everyone who tried to ease my backpain

The party for getting into the spirit and plot of the event

My favourite moments including the April Fools Joke:
Pathfinder: Lord Snarlow is now Steward of Wolfhold
Maggot: Oh f*** off!!

Shendai ghosts encounter and Sky's oriental accent in rehearsals "I stwongly disagwee with my husband's actions"

Neil hamming up the Sector 7 illness the next morning

The glowing crystal in the poison grove

The dancing/skipping chaos beasts/clones in the final encounter.

I wish I could have seen the alchemist's "please don't kill me, please don't kill me... paralysis!" on Giles's foot.

Credit to everyone for ignoring the weather to stay in good spirits!

Many thanks to Sarah and her excellent crew who made it a great event.

Have to agree with Pat on the crystal grove (ooh, shiney!), the Ghosts (very atmospheric) and the second fight with the Shark God (splat!).
Enjoyed the chat with Morkar and crushing him at Backgammon. I'm still enjoying Wolfhold politics for some reason. I'm sure that wil change...
I was impressed with the really nice touches on the set dressing. The only downer was the magic ritual fight (and consequences) in the cold, windy swamp.

See you all in May for more purple party peril!

L8R,
Adam.

Had a great time; monsters were great, players were fun to be with and despite things being down from time to time kept up their good humour.

Many funny moments and some nice set pieces.

Well done Sarah, a lot of hard work I know and it showed - look forward to your next HQ

Had a fantastic time which got progressively better as the temperatures rose, the rains subsided and the party really gelled.

Thanks to Paul for admin and bedmaking duties, to the refs for a fun event, to the monsters for being so good humoured and to Corrina and Cat for keeping us all going. Did that celebrity battleboarder ever get in touch to explain their absence?

Within the party, I have to give special mention to Pat Burden who really was excellent company both in- and out- of character for the whole event.

I think my favourite aspect of the event was the good-natured party banter which went on from start to finish and beyond into the wind-down.

Lots of fun.

So, Lord Giles: Who do we go to war with first?
