Since the demise of the old “Brown Ops”, under the guidance of Bael (who is currently in Murandir), it has been decided to create a new force to complete the more dangerous and politically sensitive missions that Brown Ops used to complete. This new force will be given the “Special Unit” designation and is sponsored by the Council of Lords of Fortunes Keep, who have asked Smudge Welk to act as the nominal head of this new organisation.

Each time the Valley require a particularly difficult task to be completed a “Special Unit” will be formed and given a number to identify it. These Special Units are open to adventurers from all Sectors who have the strength and determination to pursue the interests of our people at any cost. Anyone volunteering to join a Special Unit should be prepared to be tested to their limit and perform non standard missions with a high probability of loss of spirit strength or permanent death. However, these missions are vital for the continuing success of our people. It is hoped that over time we will have a number of Special Units available to us, to be deployed as required.
