Stockwood
Directions
The best way to get to Stock Wood is via Lydney. Lydney is 1 mile from the A48 which runs from Gloucester to Chepstow. Gloucester is 19 miles away, Cheltenham 27.
On the main road through Lydney is a Tesco’s with a garage. This is a good place to stop for fuel and/or food and drink. The Tesco’s is open 8am – 10pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 4pm Sunday.
Turn off opposite the garage onto Bream Rd.
Follow this Rd for 4.4 miles and you come to a T junction.
Turn right and go for 1.2 miles. Turn left.
Immediately on your left is the entrance to Clearwell caves car and Coach Park. Opposite this entrance is the entrance to Stock wood.
If you keep an eye out for signs for Clearwell caves you know you are going the right way.
What to Bring
For Stock wood adventures you should bring everything you would bring camping except the tent itself (although a tent is required for monsters and if you prefer not to stay in the round hut). At this time we cannot offer catering at this site so you will be doing all your own cooking washing up etc. Currently the washing/shower facilities are poor (there are no showering facilities).
Meeting Up - Details
For the Stock Wood events we will normally meet at the pub the Butchers Arms, which is less than a mile from the site.
