General

A manifestation of Nature, Gaia, set for us a task to undo the corruption upon the Forest. The task, which involved travelling to the Tombs of the Dead upon this Plane and gathering essence of body, heart, mind and soul so to create a manifestation of the corruption. Having destroyed both the 'Green Knight' and 'Plague Knight' that were subsequently created, the spheres of Nature and Necromancy appear to have now separated.

Kevralyn Soulfire, Note, Leaf Fall Moon, 11AR

This plane is infested with undead, due to the merging of the spheres of Nature and Necromancy. Valley Druids may find they loose contact with the natural sphere but co-operative heirophants may be willing to re-establish the connection. Adventurers will manifest as 'Unranked Traveller' to a detect nature of Undead. The source, or perhaps focus of these heirophant's power is a grove that 'belongs' to them. Oakrot's grove is called Grove of the Poisoned Heart.

A portal to the Plane of the Sleepless Dead was opened by Oakrot and may still exist. Undead drawn to the Forest manifest as Unranked.

Oakrot possesed an artefact to bind Unranked Undead to his service. (Lib - the location of this artifact is unverified.) This would include travllers from Orin Rakatha!

Oakrot laid a 'Strain' upon the Forest. Areas about a days walk across move across the Forest. Inside these healing invocations and other spells may work differently.

Kerney Oakrot sowed dissent among the Nar- and Sol-Silvani, so keeping their war alive.

In some seasons the 'Slithering Stars' may be seen moving in the sky. These, the Forest elves say, are the Wild Hunt, come again to search for a child they lost long ago.

Kerney Oakrot may have been killed by Rolu (Lib - Unconfirmed report.)

Races

There are three races of Elves, the Nar-, Sol- and Mor-Silvani.

The Mor-Silvani, or Dark Elves, were once enslaved by the other two races. Liberated in part by the actions of Alliance adventurers, many have fled this plane. However, a few of the slave-collars, used to bind their will, may still exist, although it is known that the master collar has been destroyed.

The Nar- and Sol-Silvani have waged war on each other for many years, at the instigation of Kearny Oakrot.

Various Alliance sources

The destruction of the first Master Torc permitted many Mor Silvani to escape the Forest. Groups of Sol-Silvani and Nar-Silvani were encountered upon Orin Rakatha (near the Maegnor Swamp) trying to recapture some of the Mor Silvani. A second master torc was created; this is still in existence and the collars chained to this construction can be used to enslave any elf. However, for the Mor Silvani that is not now an issue.

Mor-Silvani

The Mor Silvani status was bound within a Sword named Karn'ak Zol Alain (Heart of the Nation), created by Vhaerun, Patron of Warriors and Hunters. We have since destroyed this Sword, which was to be found within the Shadowdells upon Orin Rakatha. The Mor Silvani are now living on Orin Rakatha under the rulership of Kelnozz Hatch'nett, Soul Shriever and Spiritual Head of the Mor Silvani.

The Mor Silvani now dwell within the Tower named the Shadow Keep on Orin Rakatha.

Arboreal Snake-Men

The Yuan-ti (Snake-men) appear to be elementalists. One group, led by a Yuan-ti major-domo, had with them red, white and black elementals. The Yuan-ti also struck with venomed daggers, and one group were in the company of a medusa. The leader of that group was able to teleport short distances.

Considered legendary, (until we killed one) at least some were working in league with Oakrot.

Voidstalkers

Creatures that could drain the power from your body regardless of any spiritual protection you might have in place.

People

Kerney Oakrot

Most powerful of the Heirophants. Enemy of Rolu. Responsible for the sundering of the Nar- and Sol-Silvani long ago, when he tried to force a marriage between the great houses of the two elven groups. The betrothed resisted the pressure to marry mightily, choosing instead to duel to determine who would be prime, and so the war began. Now Oakrot considers the elven races no more relevant to his schemes than any other forest creature.

Heirophant Sunset

Leader of a small band of Nar- and Sol-Silvani youth. Sickened by the endless war, thay have left their own races to form their own community. They still hate the Mor-Silvani and blame them for the ills of the Forest.

Rolu

Worked in conjunction with undead (including will-o'-the-wisps) to rescue all the Mor Silvani from the Plane. This work now complete, he has returned to Orin Rakatha, where he has taken up his place in the Kalid Earthwarp, Pulse Sect.

Kevralyn Soulfire, eye-witness, Leaf Fall Moon, 11AR

A manifestation of the Forest, and in some strange way also a manifestation of the spirit of the first Valley Druid. Rolu fights Kearney and is an ally of Sunset and fights to re-unite the elven races. He bears much bitterness concerning his death as Valley Druid.

Places

Tombs of the Dead

A place where those who have died upon the Forest of Unshed Tears go in-between their lives. (This did include the Mor Silvani, while they were resident upon the Plane.) Here, the living are perceived as unnatural and the dead are drawn to their presence so to destroy them. A dead Hierophant solved this problem for us by placing upon us a 'Mask of Death', which could only be maintained by a permanent measure of our power.
