General
The Dai-Fah-Dyne trade with just about anyone, known to uphold agreements on pain of death although they seek to twist to their own benefit. They control a plane travelling device called the World Window used to travel to other planes. Recently, (10AR) the Dai-fah-Dyne contracted the Azad-An as their protectors, though this is now (11AR) obviously at an end.
Various Alliance reports
Ranks
"Ranks within the Dai-fah-Dyne are Bey, Vizier and Sultan. We were told by Bey Nazier Kahn that the Dai-fah-Dyne have within the last two weeks sold one of their Towers in the Lower Waite, near to the World Window (in exchange for the Tower located in the Eight Hills, close to the Alliance)."
Kevralyn Soulfire, note to archive, 25th of Leaf Fall, 11AR
"...we were met in our camp by “The Bey” – Faruk Galani Bey of the Galani Tribe ... who serves the Exalted Sultana Mahod Imhraine of the Ruling Crescent, Lady of the Running Wave, Sheikh of the Imhraine Tribe, Mistress of the Western Marches ... ambassador to the Kalid...
He told me that the Dai-fah-Dyne were a nomadic people who wandered the deserts before they came to Orin Rakatha, and that the Exalted Sultana had only just come of age (a few years ago)."
Kevralyn Soulfire, mission report, Hunting Moon, 11AR
Archive Note: The recognised greeting for Dai-Fah-Dyne is: "Asalam Alikim", and the response is: "Wur Alikim Salam". They have four rulers, who are in command respectively of the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern parts of Orin Rakatha.
Rulers
"Lord Arak Vembassa, Exulted Sultan of the Ruling Crescent, Master of the Southern Marches has been reported to be ‘inconvenienced’ of late. Rumours abound concerning his investigation of the Brown Magic anomalies at the time of the Grand Conjunction around the area of the World Window and his possible disappearance/death.
"Vizier Amal of the Dai Fah Dynes has been keen to point out that Lord Vembassa is only one of two Sultans whose responsibility the Valley falls under."
